Every year, nearly 4,000 women in Ghana are diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a staggering statistic that reminds us of the urgent need to take action. Early detection is key to survival. Yet, sadly, 70% of women in Ghana discover their breast cancer in its advanced stages. Let’s change this narrative together. Hear from our trainees at POWI as we spread awareness about breast cancer and empowering women to prioritize early detection. Together, we can save lives. #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #AstiAgainstBreastCancer

October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, a global campaign that started as a weeklong event in 1985. This month, we raise awareness about breast cancer, the most common cancer among women, accounting for 30% of all newly diagnosed cancers in women. It’s estimated that 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. In 2023, an estimated 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in U.S. women. This month, let’s honor the strength of the survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and support the ongoing research. Early detection can save lives, so let’s spread the word about the importance of regular screenings. Together, we can make a difference. #ThinkPink #EarlyDetection #FightLikeAGirl

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women worldwide, with approximately 2.3 million cases in 2022. In our region, it accounts for approximately one third of all cancer cases among women. These numbers are staggering, but they remind us of the importance of awareness and early detection. Together, we can reduce these numbers by spreading knowledge and encouraging action. #EMNCDA_BreastCancer2024

Every woman counts, and when we say one in eight women will face breast cancer, we’re talking about mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends – all fighting a battle no one should face alone. This October, we’re committed to making sure breast cancer awareness is more than just a conversation; it’s a call to action. Early detection and education are key, and we’re standing behind this by turning our app icon and website pink – a visible reminder of our ongoing commitment. Through JS Her, we’re not just talking the talk. We’re offering cancer coverage tailored to the needs of women, empowering them with the support they deserve. And this is just the start – we're rolling out more initiatives to spread awareness, offer education, and provide the resources that matter. We can’t afford to wait. Together, we can ensure no one fights this battle alone. Let’s turn awareness into action, and make a real difference, side by side.
