This Tuesday, December 3, is Giving Tuesday, the focus of a movement that reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. At RSI, we envision that world as a place where all people in conflict have access to tools and support that empower them to strengthen relationships instead of straining or destroying them. We suspect that many of you share this vision. That’s why we make this appeal to you today: Please support RSI with a donation on Giving Tuesday. Access to justice can change lives. Your gift to RSI sustains our ability to conduct innovative research, provide high-quality mediation services, and offer practical tools that courts and others rely on to implement systems-level change. Please join the Giving Tuesday movement: Give to RSI at aboutrsi.org/donate. We can’t do this work without you, and we are truly grateful for your support.

Did you know that we rely on donations to help support the work we do? Your dollars can make a huge difference in making an independent and fulfilled life possible for San Diego’s blind and vision-impaired community. Help us support the blind or visually impaired who need us more than ever by making a donation >> https://bit.ly/46EARRx We’re committed to empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired with opportunities to seek independence. SDCB provides the training to those who are blind to tackle challenges successfully every day that are hard to imagine by those with sight. For those who are blind or visually impaired, it takes a lot of adjustment just to manage daily tasks now. How would you cook meals for yourself without sight? Could you cross the street by yourself without sight? Could you use a computer without sight? Please consider making a donation to the San Diego Center for the Blind! Image Description: A close-up of a woman with a big smile in front of a blue background. Overlaid text reads “See how I can be independent ... I learned how to function with my blindness, shift my attitude, and regain my independence.” #SDCB #SanDiegoCenterForTheBlind #Blind #HelpOthersInNeed #MakingADifferenceTogether

Housing - A Basic Human Right: It’s easy to dismiss those experiencing homelessness as outcasts, often thinking, “Just go get a job,” without acknowledging the complex circumstances many face. In a society heavily reliant on credit, many individuals cannot secure housing simply because of poor credit—a barrier stemming from a lack of financial literacy, a skill not everyone is taught. Managing money, building credit, and navigating financial systems are relatively modern concepts and can feel foreign, especially when compared to societies where credit is not the primary pathway to housing, such as in parts of Africa or other regions with different economic systems. Moreover, mental health struggles add another layer of difficulty. Some individuals cannot maintain stable housing due to challenges with mental health, yet Western society often expects everyone to achieve perfect mental health, an excellent credit score, and impeccable money management to be deemed “acceptable.” This expectation is far removed from the reality of the human condition, where many factors, often beyond one’s control, impact stability. This is why organizations like St. Joseph Center are vital. They help people experiencing homelessness—families, individuals, and children—transition from the streets into housing. Housing is not a privilege; it’s a basic human right. This holiday season, regardless of political views, consider donating to the St. Joseph Center. They are making an undeniable difference in the lives of many, proving that we are all interconnected. What affects one human being affects us all. By supporting organizations like this, we not only provide shelter but also empower individuals to thrive, dream, and contribute to a stronger economy. Together, we can make a significant impact on our society. When people’s basic needs, like housing, are met, the entire community benefits. Together, let’s support the mission to end homelessness and create a society where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity, a fundamental right that we all deserve. Let's show our empathy and compassion by supporting this cause.

Education is opportunity.
Less than half of Maryland’s kindergartners are prepared to engage with the curriculum when they enter school. We know children who have the opportunity to participate in early learning programs are twice as likely to start school ready to learn. At Ready At Five, we are committed to empowering educators and ensuring that every child in Maryland develops the foundational skills they need for success in school, career, and life. This Giving Tuesday, join us in giving every Maryland child an equal start. Your support can make a lasting impact. Together, we can build a brighter future for Maryland's children. If you've been considering a donation to a local org during GiveBIG, I'd love your support at my fundraising link for Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. As a board member, I know just how far a donation of $10, $15 can go to help more youth. The clubs offer a place for growing, learning and playing. BGCSPS also supports amazing things outside of the clubs including Teen Mental Health First Aid training - a program that coaches teens in grades 10-12 or ages 15-18 on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use, challenges among their friends and peers. Some things to know: - BGCPS served 5,100 young people in 2023 (up 57% from the previous year) - 71% served are Black, Indigenous or people of color - 52% live in single-parent households Give: https://lnkd.in/gS5sqQ56

In Matthew 6:1-2, it is emphasized that acts of kindness should not be done for public recognition but rather with sincerity and humility. The passage warns against seeking praise from others for charitable deeds, highlighting the importance of genuine compassion. Let's strive to help others selflessly, knowing that true rewards come from a pure heart. Find the full passage here: https://lnkd.in/ghAZMwEg
