People are still getting to grips with AI copy in emails. The major mistake most people make when using AI for cold outreach: Is sending AI-written content without review 😡 (According to 📈 Jeremey Donovan of Insight Partners) AI is a time saver, but when it’s writing copy for you, it’s basically acting as a giant slot machine… It’s writing sentences by putting down a word… And predicting the next most logical word—not necessarily the BEST word… Or even a word that makes sense… AI cannot replace common sense just yet… And often, one look is all it takes to see that there’s a problem. 🎙️ Deep dive into episode no. 2 of my experimental L&D Podcast: Continuous Learning Culture. Disclaimer: AI was used in the generation of this content, even though it’s based on my own original thoughts. It’s a bit experimental, so please be critical. Yesterday, I posted about the possible ramifications the use of this technology may have. ☝️ Today, I try to use it to create meaningful content about a topic that is dear to me: a continuous learning culture. I think this “podcast episode” turned out quite well. Here and there, the AI inserted ideas that were not present in the original content I provided. While I like some of them, I would definitely remove others; at this time, however, the tool doesn’t offer any editing capabilities. 🤔 Sometimes there are subtle inconsistencies that are more difficult to spot. Like when one of the voices is introducing an idea and the other voice reacts surprised, only to take over to explain that same idea a moment later. A podcast that provides real, actionable advice on how AI can be used to enhance marketing? Sign me up! I think a lot of us B2b marketers are skeptical about AI. For years we’ve used “AI” as a buzzword to sell software; the technology underlying that software had some actual AI components, but campaigns were more about the sizzle than the substance. Then we get into the nuances of authorship and artistry. I’ve spent decades building relationships with talented content creators. I value their work, and I value them. We’ve all been in the room when a senior exec suggests that we “just use ChatGPT” to create a blog post—as if it’s a 1:1 substitute—and it’s depressing at best. I want to use AI as a set of tools that help me to become *better* at my job, not as a lever to commoditize content creation. I’ll be listening to Ken Roden and Erin Mills new podcast as the guide that leads me there. And with guests like Nicole Leffer, you know it’s the real deal. Give the first episode a listen.
