I do not know if you desire to loop from container to container. That is what I did for so long. And it did not click. I felt unhappy. Unfulfilled. Confused. Every mentor, coach, and healer I worked with saw something else in me. I am super grateful for all the support. However, deep down I knew that there MUST be more. I saw my LinkedIn Rewind today thanks to stumbling upon Coauthor because of Ashley Coghill 🛼! Numbers caught my eye: 11,470 connections. 130 posts. 6,499 reactions. And special shoutout to those 11k+ who tune in to my journey as a Latino with a disability navigating tech. But numbers only tell part of the story. Living with a physical disability taught me to see patterns others might miss. It shaped how I solve problems. It changed how I measure success. This year showed me something unexpected: Our perceived limitations often become our greatest teachers. Those moments when we feel most different? They're actually our superpowers in disguise. They help us spot solutions others might miss. They teach us to build bridges instead of walls. They show us that strength isn't about individual victories. It's about the quiet moments. The vulnerable conversations. The times we turn our challenges into pathways for others. That's the real story of 2024. Not the metrics or milestones. I haven’t been on LinkedIn much lately. I’ve been taking some much-needed time for myself after a challenging period. In the span of 11 months in 2023, I was involved in two major car accidents and underwent a hysterectomy surgery. These events left me with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spine injuries, and a lot of mental health issues. Throughout 2023, I kept pushing through, convinced that I was okay. But as 2024 began, I realized I was in denial about the extent of my struggles. It became clear that I needed to step back and focus on my healing and recovery. During this time, my amazing team stepped in to take over. Their kindness, compassion, and understanding reminded me of the incredible power of community. They didn’t just fill in for me—they provided me with the time and space I needed to heal. Their small acts of support made a significant impact on my journey to recovery. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned from this experience: 1. Acknowledging Vulnerability: It's okay to admit when we are not okay. Recognizing our own struggles is the first step towards healing. 2. The Power of Community: We often underestimate the strength we draw from those around us. My team’s support has been a testament to how collective compassion can help us through tough times. 3. Self-Care is Essential: Taking time to heal, both physically and mentally, is crucial. It’s not a sign of weakness but a necessary part of recovery. 4. Gratitude: I am incredibly grateful for my team. Their unwavering support has shown me the importance of having a strong, caring network. To anyone going through a tough time, remember that it’s okay to take a step back and focus on yourself. Reach out to your community and lean on them when needed. We are stronger together. Thank you to everyone, especially my tribe Mehraj Sofi, Varsha Kaushal, and Keval Savani, who have supported me through this journey. Your kindness has made all the difference. Thank you all for your kind messages following yesterday’s post! It means so much that the lessons I've shared resonate with you. Sundays are my day for self-reflection, peace, and fellowship, and today I want to share a lesson I’ve learned on repeat. Life has a funny way of teaching us that support doesn’t always come from the people you’ve known the longest. Sometimes, it’s the ones you’ve just met who lift you up the most and lead you to your becoming ( your personal Hero or Savior journey). Growing up in a large family and a close-knit, faith-based community, I believed support would naturally come from those closest to me. But I’ve realized that’s not always the case. Even Jesus, with His 12 disciples, faced betrayal yet continued His path to becoming our Savior. It’s a powerful reminder that true growth often comes from unexpected places. I’m incredibly grateful for my husband & kids, five siblings,mother in law, my aunties, and friends. That support and bond has taught me the magic of perseverance, especially in business. The support we receive is a bonus, and those who offer it are like guardian angels sent by God during tough times. Trust me in business you have soul crushing times so you need your people! This support remind me that no matter what, there's always a reason to keep pushing forward and that's the nugget for today: Keep going and those who support you are your people! Those who can’t fully support you and only love parts of you may unintentionally contribute to self-destructive patterns. It’s important to set boundaries because you can’t move forward positively without learning to distinguish the people that are there for you and those who are not.
