🌿 To preserve its natural heritage, #Peru invests in nature-positive projects. Public financing mechanisms, such as "Invierte.pe" and "Work for Taxes," along with microfinance initiatives, have incorporated #biodiversity criteria into their standards and guidelines with the support of BIOFIN and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Since the adoption of these updated standards in 2016, Invierte.pe has identified and developed a pipeline of US$30 million for eight projects, of which US$8 million has already been allocated to four key initiatives. One of these, the Recovery of Ecosystem Services for Water Regulation in Ayabaca, Piura, received US$1.9 million to support forestry, ecosystem restoration, and water harvesting, essential for maintaining ecological balance and water resources in the region. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dJ8Pntca PNUD Perú PNUD en América Latina y el Caribe

#GetToKnow our work in Rwanda #Week2 #Sustainable_Landscapes and #Climate_Resilient_Agriculture Join us this Friday, as we explore our impactful efforts in sustainable landscapes and climate-resilient agriculture. Rwanda heavily relies on its natural resources with over two-thirds of the population engaged in agriculture, forestry and tourism for income and food security. Yet, the country faces significant challenges with more than 745,000 hectares of agricultural land eroded annually, leading to the loss of an estimated 6 million tons of crops each year (IUCN, 2022). GGGI Rwanda is dedicated to supporting the Government of Rwanda in developing sustainable landscapes and climate-resilient agriculture to address these challenges. Discover our achievements in the slides below, from mobilizing resource for projects like the Green Gicumbi to exploring innovative solutions such as Agrivoltaics. Stay tuned for next weeks updates on how we're shaping the green growth in Rwanda! #climate_resilience #greengrowth #greenrwanda 🇷🇼🌿 Dr. Malle Fofana Caroline Raes Helena McLeod Frank Rijsberman Global Green Growth Institute GGGI Africa
