At last everyone has an opportunity to contribute the future of the NHS. It’s not about just fixing the here and now, but looking at an NHS and Social Care service for the future, ten years and beyond. We have a unique social responsibility system developed over 75 years. So we are lucky to have a lot of legal, governmental construct in place, that some other countries can only dream about, however, it’s not joined up and fit for the next 70 years. This government may have at least two terms to start to turn it around. We know that a lot of health issues are non- communicable diseases and impacted by the social determinants of health. What is the deal between the citizen and the Health and Care service? Can we invest in looking after ourselves better, whilst the government helps those impacted most in society? Meanwhile, how can we move to prediction and prevention- allowing better health for longer? Balancing our resources, our highly trained and skilled health professionals with using them best value, whilst availing of the power of technology and A.I. To create a more dynamic, real time service and a more enjoyable place to work for those delivering our care! Now is the time to think and be heard.

The Government is writing it's 10-year plan for the NHS, and they want to hear from 👉you👈. So, we've put together the tools you need to speak up for the change you want to see in general practice: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gyiM7YTB You understand more than anyone else the problems facing the NHS. But we need to make sure decision makers understand this too and take the right action to fix them. We have until the 2nd of December to make sure they hear the voice of general practice loud and clear. By coming together and responding directly to the consultation, sharing examples of best practice, attending one of our consultation workshops or encouraging your patients to respond, we can create lasting positive change.

The NHS’s ten-year plan aims to reshape how care is delivered across the UK, with a focus on three key changes: bringing more care closer to home, improving digital access to services, and increasing prevention efforts. The NHS wants feedback from people with personal experience of stroke—whether you’re a stroke survivor or family member. You can share your thoughts on: 🔵 Which areas the NHS should prioritise in planning for stroke care. 🟢 Your experiences with NHS stroke services and how they could improve. 🔵 Ideas for supporting stroke recovery and prevention within the community. At Different Strokes, we’re preparing a response to make sure our community’s needs are included. If you’d like to add your input, email us at info@differentstrokes.co.uk. 📣 Let’s ensure that stroke survivors’ voices are heard.

How can improvement approaches support the current ambition for change? 💡 The 10-year plan for the NHS is scheduled to launch in spring. Q has been invited to draw on the expertise and experience within our community to explore the role improvement methods can play in the three ‘big shifts’ that the Government want to see: - from hospital to community - from sickness to prevention - from analogue to digital On 21 November, our workshop 'Improvement’s role in delivering the 10-year plan in England' will consider the broader role that improvement approaches and capabilities need to play in delivering the plan at all levels of the system. We’ll hear from Paul Corrigan, a senior advisor within the Department of Health and Social Care who is working closely with Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, to shape the plan. The workshop is already fully booked, but we’ll be sharing insight gathered from the workshop more widely – so stay tuned. https://brnw.ch/21wOMFh

We welcomed Kate Warriner (chief transformation and digital officer at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Trust); Chris Johnson (chief medical information officer at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust); and John Kosobucki (CEO and founder of OX.DH). Here, John Kosobucki tackles the question head on... You can also catch-up on the discussion points here: https://lnkd.in/ee2m2GaU

🎥 Excited to Launch the First Video for www.LetsFIXtheNHS.help Over the past two years, I’ve experienced the NHS from a deeply personal perspective. Losing my brother Michael and supporting my mother Rena through two strokes—before her passing in August 2024—brought me face-to-face with the immense challenges, strengths, and gaps in our healthcare system. These experiences not only shaped my appreciation for the dedication of NHS staff but also highlighted systemic issues that urgently need addressing. From access to life-saving treatments like thrombectomies to the strain on rehabilitation services, it’s clear: the NHS must evolve to meet the needs of patients, families, and the professionals working tirelessly on the frontlines. That’s why I've devised Let’s Fix the NHS. This platform is about solutions, not just identifying problems. Our first video dives into the why behind this project—my personal story, the systemic gaps that demand attention, and the vision for what Let’s Fix the NHS can achieve. What’s Next? This is just the beginning. In the coming months, I’ll be sharing: ✅ Personal stories that shed light on patient and family experiences. ✅ Insights from experts across healthcare, policy, and innovation. ✅ Practical ideas for how we can transform the NHS—together. This isn’t just my journey; it’s a call to action for anyone who believes in a better future for UK healthcare. Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, NHS staff member, or simply someone who cares, your voice matters. 👉 Watch the video below: 💬 Take a look at the www.LetsFIXTheNHS.help website and let me know your thoughts in the comments—what challenges do you think we need to tackle first? Together, we can spark the change the NHS needs. #LetsFixTheNHS #HealthcareInnovation #StrokeCare #NHS #HealthCareReform https://lnkd.in/eevhWNpk
