I have been to large conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, and NYC. None of them can scale out like Las Vegas. Vegas is the most highly available, and on-demand city on the planet. There is no better venue for re:Invent, our week to share innovations like Amazon Aurora DSQL that gives customers virtually unlimited scalability for their always available applications. We share the stage with partners like Cintra who launched Remapped, an automated, cross-domain assessment service for customers to quickly calculate the cost benefit of migrating to AWS.
However, my week was less about our innovations, and more about listening to 32 customers tell us what they need next to grow their business. In other words, what we should launch at the next re:Invent and beyond. What I love about AWS is that there is no ivory tower, only beautifully, wonderfully dissatisfied customers that want something better. So on this last day of re:Invent 2024 begins yet another Day 1.
Lastly, in this era of the distributed workforce, I am grateful for the chance to meet face-to-face, break bread, and even dance with colleagues and customers whom I call friends. Zedd closed out re:Invent 2024 with this simple gesture of love and support.
