Delays, Backlogs, and Software Glitches: Bexar County’s Odyssey Seeing the latest news about Bexar County’s struggles with their new Odyssey software makes me think about missed opportunities. Maybe they should have hired me to assist with the implementation instead of arresting me on trumped-up claims. Karma is indeed real, and it’s serving a double dose. While Bexar County’s justice system faces delays, my freedom from GPS monitoring is also on hold, thanks to the county’s own 1984-style big brother program. Dealing with Timezones in software can be tricky. As luck would have it, a standard database (#TZDatabase) was built to make it easier for software projects to get those details right. And, every time those #timezone details (across the world) are changed that database needs to be updated. What happens if those details are not updated... if the #timezone data is incorrect?
