At Synology Solution Day we became more aware of the 3-2-1-1-0 rule in keeping data safe. 3-2-1 isn’t actually enough , especially with the complexity of data storage and backups. So let us explain: 3 copies of data 2 types of media 1 offsite 1 offline/cold 0 errors on verification Hence 3-2-1-1-0 A study was done to ask people about their confidence in their own data backup strategy and a shockingly low percentage said they were confident.
