Our goals as a business are simple, and we apply organizing principles to achieve them. 1. Make sure your strategy (the words) drives action. 2. Make sure your operations (the workflows) make those actions easier. 3. Make sure your workforce (the community) is organized to achieve together. So when Erin Gallagher said she and her team needed support - we jumped at the chance to organize a group of people around an action, drive that action, and make it easier for more to join in. The Hush Collaborative refuses to follow the business-as-usual line that political neutrality is the default policy. Simply by existing, we are political. We support and will continue to support Hype Women and #hypewomenforharris because we deeply believe in women's collective power to create change within and outside systems. We believe in the power of HYPE and storytelling to bring us together, connect us, and propel us all forward. We share values, including being #honestforgood, telling it like it is, and centering truth over comfort. But most of all, we are biased towards action, in our business and in our personal lives. Choosing the firm isn’t always easy and finding the right fit is imperative. We are delighted that Arielle chose R&E to call her home. What are the most important factors young women should consider when choosing a firm to build their career with? “Look at whether women hold leadership positions within the firm, whether the firm is focusing on DEI initiatives, and whether there is transparency regarding the criteria to advance through the ranks. Consider whether the firm is willing to clearly set forth and commit to how you will be compensated. Ask to speak to other women at the firm during the hiring process and ask the tough questions that you may be nervous about asking. Then analyze everything you have learned about the firm and ask yourself if you believe you will be valued, respected and fairly compensated at the firm.”

I come from an industry that is predominantly powered by #women However, even today, most industries are dominated by men. In 2022, #data collected from the International Labour Organization concluded that, out of 180 countries - the #unitedstates ranks number 71 for % of women in the workforce. The percentage of women in the #workforce in the U.S is 46.38% Women remain #underrepresented at all levels, in most industries. The Russell 3000 companies headquartered in Colorado have 29% of their board positions held by women. This is getting close to the 30% for Russell 3000 companies throughout the United States. Thanks to 50/50 Women on Boards and Equilar for providing this analysis quarterly.

Women’s month is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate women in our lives. But we could do so much more… the real conversations need to start in our own homes and our workplaces. In what ways are we daily advocating for women? In what ways are making room for them to be heard and celebrated? In what ways do we intentionally set women up for wins? Women should not have to wait for August to feel celebrated. Our campaigns and events about protecting, standing up for and standing with women should not be a facade to please or impress the crowd, this should be a genuine desire to see women win at home and at the workplace. Women are role models, prayer warriors, and leaders to many people in their communities and circles. Personally, women have had the greatest impact on my life— their resilience to keep dreaming even though the odds are against them, the tenacity to keep going when it could be easy to quit, the audacity to serve even when not appreciated, the miracle of carrying life and raising children, the power to love, to work, and to enjoy life. The drive to honor and vouch for women should not stop when the month of August ends. It should be an ongoing pursuit… 💛

Thank you Meredith C. Moore for inviting us to this year’s luncheon & for literally bringing us to the table to support the The Atlanta Women's Foundation & the much needed services they provide to women and girls in Atlanta. Since 1998, they have invested over $27 million in Atlanta across Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties. Incredible turnout of around 1,700 people and congratulations on raising around $300,000 in 10 mins. Here are some statistics that were shared that highlight the importance of this work: 1️⃣Less than 2% of total US charitable giving goes to organizations serving women and girls. 2️⃣Women and girls are twice as likely to experience mental health issues, a number that only increases for those living in poverty. 3️⃣The percentage of high school girls who have seriously considered attempting suicide rose from 24.1% to 30% in recent years. 4️⃣17% of women 18 years and older live in poverty. 5️⃣Women make up nearly two-thirds of the 40 lowest-paying jobs. 6️⃣The largest demographic living in poverty are women ages 25 to 34, followed by those 18 to 24, and then 35 to 44. 7️⃣Nearly 80,000 girls live in poverty in Metro Atlanta. This is some of what the foundation has been able to achieve: 1️⃣12,000 women have gained access to employment opportunities. 2️⃣1,200 women have received childcare scholarships. 3️⃣Over 20,000 women have accessed critical mental health services.
