Happy Friday! It's been another stress-filled week... your jaw may be tense from that polite smile you've been wearing all week, mask how stressed and tired you. Take a quick micro-break, shake it all off, and clear your head of all that you have left unfinished or didn't go as well as you would have liked. Drop that fake smile (you may need to make silly faces for a second or so to loosen up those facial muscles), Think about what you have accomplished (not just this week), Be proud of who you are & how you are loved Now ... what does that smile feel like? Stress Recovery Coaching Services help you slow out-of-control busyness, reclaim time, restore energy & reconnect with God, yourself, and loved ones as you improve work-life balance and reduce stress. Whether your stress is caused by your boss' demands or the pressure you put on yourself at work, I help you change your work habits and routines so you can free up more time & energy for loved ones, personal interests, and self-care. Feel free to DM me or book a virtual coffee chat from my profile page so I can learn more about your challenging situation and offer a bit of perspective (no sales, just getting to know you). #Stressless #StressRelief #ReduceStress #Health #HealthyLiving #WorklifeBalance #WorklifeHarmony
Don't forget to smile and be proud of who you are—because no matter what, YOU MATTER 😊 If you ever feel like you don’t, if you’re struggling emotionally, or if you just need to talk for extra support, help is available. https://lnkd.in/eT_mqcr

As we all begin slowing down to hopefully enjoy Thanksgiving 🦃 with our families, I'm reminded how incredibly difficult holidays can be for some. Children & youth with trauma histories often really struggle during the holidays and may not be able to voice "why." Happy or sad memories, loss of loved ones, wondering where their first mom, dad or siblings are during a joyous time -- just a few reasons that challenges ensue. Instead of unbounded joy, there may be meltdowns and chaos. You probably know someone with this reality -- they are in your break room, zoom screen, pew or neighborhood. Please share... we want to minimize stress and help all families find peace & calm this season. 🎄 💫 ⏰ 12-2pm CST, December 4th Attendees will learn: ✅ How to Handle Holiday Stress & Trauma ✅ Learn How to Thrive This Holiday Season ✅ Discover the power of 3-P Method for Calmness ✅ Actionable Strategies You Can Implement Today https://lnkd.in/g3HfT577

‘How to Cope with Grief’ by Ms Ushma Asher. A session during the COVID pandemic focused on coping with grief, aiming to support those navigating loss in such challenging times. The session also covered practical coping strategies. Emphasis was placed on seeking emotional and social support, as connecting with others can provide comfort and lessen feelings of isolation. Self-care was highlighted, encouraging individuals to prioritize their own needs. Participants were reminded of the importance of asking grieving individuals what kind of support they need, rather than making assumptions, to ensure that help is genuinely supportive. Offering physical assistance, such as helping with basic tasks, was also discussed as a meaningful way to lighten the load for those going through loss. This session created a compassionate space for understanding grief, offering participants tools to feel supported and connected as they manage their emotions. #griefsupport #covidrecovery #mentalhealthawareness #copingwithloss #socialsupport #selfcare https://lnkd.in/d9FvneiP

Tag someone who needs to hear this! Let's have a real conversation about something that often gets pushed aside: death. Talking openly about death with family isn't easy, but it's so important! It helps us understand each other's wishes, cope with grief, and cherish the time we have together. Let's break the silence and strengthen our bonds through meaningful conversations. #TalkAboutDeath #EstatePlanning #endoflifecare #MarylandEstatePlanning #NewYorkEstatePlanning #medicaladvancedirective

Crisis support, or, remember 9/11 and 9-8-8. On this date 23 years ago, I won over my hard-to-impress new boss by notifying her of the horrifying events unfolding 3 hours from us in New York (news travelled slow to our campus) and then, as all US news websites crashed, keeping her up to date using peruvian websites, as more incidents happened 200 miles south and west of us. We did our small part that terrible day, managing the uncertainty and emotional fallout of that crisis at our local level of a college campus in central Pennsylvania. Flash foward to the present. Other crisis still happen. Every day someone in Pennsylvania and elsewhere is struggling with a mental health crisis and needs support. The son of that same former boss spoke on the issue this week at the PA House of Representatives. Rep. Izzy Smtih-Wade-El shared his own struggles and experience engaging mental health crisis services, while encouraging more use of them. You can watch the video on IG in the link below. What he did was brave, but this is not about endorsing a politician (Izzy and I have candidly agreed/disagreed on topics for years). This post is about encouraging more people to talk about this, especially those with the loudest megaphones and the biggest audiences. And for those without any megaphones, to still remember that you can always help in the smallest of ways in the biggest crisis. For example, give out the national crisis number, 9-8-8. https://lnkd.in/e3uWu4ws
Ismail Smith-Wade-El on Instagram: "We never know what crisis we may face. You are not alone. Help is available, Call 988 to speak with someone you can trust."

The holiday season emphasizes family togetherness, but alongside that togetherness can be a hefty helping of family stress. December has been declared National Stress-Free Family Holiday Month, but don’t roll your eyes yet! The whole point of this month is to grow awareness of the ways that family holidays can add stress to our lives, and what to do about it. Everyone’s family situation is unique, and each unique family brings unique stress. One of the safest, most helpful places to try to find ways to reduce family stress for the holidays is in therapy. Your counselor can hear you out, offer ways to cope with stress, and cheer you on as you make changes and start to manage stress effectively. Therapy can be an empowering place that can help you change how your holiday season plays out. Learn more about how therapy can help you here: https://lnkd.in/d7kWquUJ
