This study explores Post-Traumatic Growth following drug-related deaths, and highlights how stigma and other challenges can make it hard for bereaved friends and family members to access the support they need to help them build resilience, self-compassion and more. The researchers are advocating for more holistic, growth-oriented bereavement care. Help Texts can be part of the solution. Our texts help people reframe challenging aspects of their losses and build hope and resilience over time. With carefully-crafted, evidence-informed support specifically tailored for people grieving drug-related losses, Help Texts is a low-burden tool that breaks through barriers like stigma and language, and can be utilized to help bereaved people work towards post-traumatic growth. The National Institutes of Health estimate that a staggering twenty million people worldwide currently need some form of end-of-life care. Theses figures highlight the importance of better bereavement support and opening up a supportive discussion around death, not only for those who have lost a loved one. So, as this week marks Hospice UK's Dying Matters Week, we would like to encourage companies everywhere to promote the importance of these difficult conversations, offering people the opportunity to talk about death, dying and grief in a way which feels appropriate to them. This week isn't just about those who have lost a loved one, it is also about those who are in the process of losing someone. Grief and loss come in all shapes and sizes, no two experiences are the same. Our team work closely with those who are dealing with loss, which is why we recognise the importance and value of having difficult conversations.
