As the end of the year approaches, I find myself reflecting on the journeys taken - both professionally and personally. I once worked at LGE/PFL. It’s hard to believe it has been nearly 2 decades - since I first met and worked alongside my 'PFL crew'. Although we haven’t shared an office in all that time, I sometimes reminisce about how we bonded over impossible deadlines and chuckle at the absurdities we managed to survive together. I remember how easy it was to be friends, as well as colleagues. That time in our lives felt so much simpler. Less responsibility, fewer commitments, and lighter hearts. We didn’t know it then, but those really were the days, weren’t they? Seeing each other every day, sharing the most mundane or momentous details of our lives. We celebrated birthdays, weddings, welcomed new babies, navigated breakups. And we faced the unspeakable loss of Femi Sangowawa - someone who will always be missed. Behind all those shared workdays, out-of-office adventures, and spontaneous catch-ups lie a history and authentic friendships I treasure deeply. For that, I’m forever grateful! In December, I will be hosting a special Zoom-in with my former PFL colleagues. 🤩 Some of us have moved across continents, switched industries, or taken on new challenges, but the bonds we formed remain a reminder of what really matters. It'll hopefully be a good chance to remember the laughter, the struggles, and the growth we experienced together! To all my former colleagues: I can’t wait to hear where life has taken you. Let’s continue to inspire each other and carry forward the lessons we’ve learned. ⭐ #reconnect #oldfriends #gratitude #careerjourneys #endofyearreflections #linkedin
Dear Mayowa, Thank you for sharing your heartfelt reflections! I completely resonate with everything you've expressed. It’s incredible to think about how time has flown since our days at LGE/PFL. The memories of our teamwork, the challenges we faced, and the friendships we built are truly special. I often find myself reminiscing about those simpler times too. The laughter, shared experiences, and the support we gave each other created a bond that still feels strong, regardless of the years and distances that separate us now. I’m excited about the upcoming Zoom reunion! It will be wonderful to reconnect and hear everyone’s stories. Those connections are invaluable, and I look forward to celebrating our journeys together. See you in December!
'Mayowa Okewumi Thank you, so much for this. I remembered how one person's project is everyone's own. It was a 'one for all, all for one' kind of thing. How no one feared being vulnerable or ashamed because of the strong bonds and openness. How we read and exchange novels... Frank Peretti, Karen Kingsbury, etc. We were more of a family then than colleagues... Hmmm, FS of blessed memory was a powerful force. The memory of the righteous is blessed. I look forward to the reunion on zoom. God bless you, sis. God's love and mine.
My dearest May-May! Its almost unbelievable how time flies, as through your eyes(write-up) I really see that its been almost 2 decades! I cant wait for this e-reunion and hope it will eventually translate to a physical one soon. Please do count me in on this and I have indeed saved the date. Knowing you and remembering the way you were, i'm sure it would involve a lot of fun activities and reminiscing. See you soon!
Thanks Mayu this is awesome. I can't wait for this reunion . How nice it would be to connect with all our former colleagues and friends again.
This is truly exciting! It’s made me feel through those times into the present. Please share the joining link soon! 🥰
Thank you 'Mayowa Okewumi! This is such a beautiful and refreshing post. Looking forward to the December catch-up 😊 Please keep me updated ❤
This idea is so refreshing. It sounds like it's going to be a blast! Thanks for doing this, 'Mayowa Okewumi
