More than 200 people in Norfolk have started apprenticeships through the Apprenticeships Norfolk Levy Support Scheme. The initiative has facilitated over £2.4 million of unused levy to fund apprenticeships in businesses across a diverse range of sectors, helping to provide the skills they need to grow, as well as clear career paths for the apprentices. Increased Apprenticeship Funding: • Starting from April 1st, the government will fully fund apprenticeships in small businesses by covering the entire cost of training for individuals up to the age of 21. This move is expected to reduce costs and administrative burdens for businesses while creating more opportunities for young people to kick-start their careers. • An additional £60 million in government funding has been allocated for the next year, ensuring that there is sufficient funding to meet the demand for apprenticeships from businesses.

It is the inaugural year for Youth Apprenticeship Week, which celebrates the benefits of Registered Apprenticeships for youth. Registered Apprenticeship programs across the state link education with the workforce and provide Iowa’s young people with opportunities to develop valuable technical skills, earn credits and wages and train for a future career. #ChooseYourPathwayIA #YAW2024 #ApprenticeshipUSA
