Although Casey excelled in her role as a unit secretary at Oakview Medical Care Facility, she was eager to take the next step in her career. Driven by her passion for healthcare, she enrolled in classes to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Casey achieved her goal by completing her classes and earning her certification in July! The credential met the medical care facility's prerequisite of being a Certified Nursing Assistant and allowed Casey to join Oakview's Licensed Practical Nurse Registered Apprenticeship Program. Casey is now working full-time as a Licensed Practical Nurse Registered Apprentice while also completing her Related Instruction hours at West Shore Community College. Her achievements were celebrated during a National Apprenticeship Week event by her mentor, colleagues and Michigan Works! West Central staff.
