Small actions can save countless lives. This story is proof of the impact one person can have. American expat Rick Brown has been making waves in Pattaya, Thailand, by distributing free helmets to children and adults. With the support of local donors, the Cajun Life Cafe, and Pattaya police, his mission tackles the critical issue of unprotected motorcycle riding among children—a widespread safety concern. In just two years, Rick’s self-funded initiative has gained incredible momentum, with his online videos reaching over one million views. His dedication to promoting safety and protecting children goes beyond generosity—it’s a reminder of the positive change expats can bring to their communities. When expats lead with empathy, everyone benefits. What’s an initiative you’ve seen or supported that made a difference? Share it below to inspire others. #ExpatLife #CommunityImpact #RoadSafety #ChildProtection #Pattaya #Thailand #GlobalCitizenship #SafeExpat #PositiveChange

Interesting article on fake NGOs. I like the term SAGs in the article - self-appointed guardians and guides. In my 11 years in the development sector, these words 'impact', 'scale', 'grounded', 'for the community' have been so far away from the truth in so many cases. In my network, I often ask people to tread carefully with NGOs as staff, donor and most importantly as direct beneficieries. Because you never know when you and your narrative will become just another pitch. https://lnkd.in/dcviv4AE
