BMB LOVE SCHOOL - GIVING GIFTS TO DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES IN BINH CHANH  On August 17, 2024, members representing the BMB Love School Foundation visited and donated necessities such as cakes, candy, and milk.... to difficult circumstances in the Binh Chanh area. Although the gifts are not large, they contain our respect and love for the Elders, Aunts, and Uncles here. BMB Love School Foundation knows that difficulties and adversity always exist to test each person's bravery, strength, and will. But we still hope that after all, the Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles will still keep their happy smiles and find peace in the adversity of their lives. ‘Tis the season for giving, and the winter Color Guard is hoping you can extend some holiday cheer our way.The Mountainside winter program gives our color guard members an opportunity to stay “in-tune” between the fall marching band seasons. The winter guard creates a theatrical and artistic program to perform at local competitions from January through April. Not only does the winter season give the students a chance to stay in-shape and hone their skills, but it also perpetuates the essential lessons introduced in marching band: self-reliance, discipline, leadership skills, and work ethic. The success of the winter color guard program can positively position the color guard for later success in the fall marching band season.  As our winter program continues to grow and improve, our financial demands have increased. Although our program is partially supported through members' fees, additional funds are needed for staffing, production design, equipment, uniforms/costumes, competition entries, and all the operational aspects of the organization. What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time.  Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this.  Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership

Veterans Day donation matching Stand-To Match Day **Next Monday, November 11, 2024** Stand-To Match Day provides an opportunity for growth for participating organizations that strive to do good works and an opportunity for the community to support these causes. On this day, donations made through the Armed Forces Community Foundation to participating funds will receive a 50% match that can be used for their most crucial needs. The Patterson Family Foundation will award up to $70,000 to AFCF for dollar per dollar raised during match days, with up to $35,000 saved for upcoming community enrichment project opportunities and up to $35,000 for participating organizations. Fundraising goal: War Horses for Veterans is seeking $20,000 in funds to assist us in building a new barn. Our current barn was built in the late 1800’s and has been updated however, lacks the room, storage of equipment, and feeding supplies to meet our current needs. With the growth over the last several years, our addition of more horses and equipment has been steady with the demand of our programs. Currently, we have been using temporary housing in the lower level of our property to house horses. This structure is exposed to the elements all year with open portions of each stall for air flow. The temporary stalls are not ideal, which has caused us not to use all the stalls available due to the deterioration of the structure.
