At The GFB, we like to say we’re an effort-based organization. It’s a value that drives everything we do—because whether it’s creating the best gluten-free snacks, supporting our team, or connecting with our customers, the effort we put in is what makes the difference. We’re inspired by this quote from Eric Thomas: “Don’t expect front row seats if you’re giving nosebleed effort.” It’s a reminder that the results we want—whether in business or life—start with the effort we’re willing to give.

Winning an Award: It's More Than Just the Trophy! Did you know that winning an award opens doors far beyond the accolade itself? it's not just about the moment of victory; there's a whole world of extras that come with it, often overlooked but incredibly valuable. Take, for example, the opportunity to be featured in prestigious publications – a benefit that's worth its weight in gold. Normally, securing a spot in a leading magazine can be costly, but winning an award can land you that coveted space for free. And it's not just any advertisement; it's a feature that celebrates your achievement, adding an extra layer of credibility and recognition. So, the next time you're considering entering an award, remember it's not just about the win – it's about the journey and the doors it opens.

Coca - Cola Sold Just 25 bottles in the first year..... In the world of beginnings, numbers can be deceiving. When only 2 people registered for my workshop, I saw not disappointment, but opportunity. Like Coca-Cola, which sold just 25 bottles in its first year and now quenches the thirst of millions daily, every success story starts small. Those 2 registrations weren't a setback - they were my first believers, my starting point. They encouraged me to work harder, to refine my message, to reach further. In their commitment, I found the spark to fuel my passion. Remember, it's not about how you start, but how you persist. Whether it's 2 registrations or 200, each person represents a chance to make a difference. Every small beginning holds the potential for great impact. So to all dreamers and doers: Embrace your humble starts. Let low numbers motivate, not discourage you. Your dedication today paves the way for tomorrow's success. Keep pushing, keep growing, and watch as your 2 become 2,000 and beyond. Your journey of impact is just beginning!

Some interesting thoughts.
I just thought I'd jump on the band wagon and share my experiences yesterday at the Scottish Whisky Awards. I had an amazing night because..... ....I wasn't there. I'm not really into any of that back slapping nonsense, where everyone pretends that they're all really close friends but mostly won't even speak to each other until the next awards p*ssup happens. I'm not really into all of that "lets pretend we're REAL authentic jocks" just by putting on a man skirt or a pair of tartan pants. I'm not really into these faux "independent" awards, with "independent" judges, when we all know it's one big circle jerk or back scratching and horse trading. On the brighter side. At least these awards seem to actually have losers and it's not just another pay to win the right to use a shiny sticker on your bottles, like pretty much every other award in the liquor world.

What goes into creating winning award entries? We're lucky to have a few wins under our belt, as well as judging industry and comms awards across the years. Missive's Whitney Simon, Erin Lovett, Nicola Koronka and Emma Ross reveal what the judges are looking for when they're deciding on the all important gold medals, including: 🟡 Why entering awards is important 🟡 How to win awards 🟡 Telling a compelling story with your entry 🟡 Providing quantifiable results and evidence https://lnkd.in/eJM_NnHc
