Most high volume pitch events are pretty rubbish... Poor selection leads to poor investor engagement, and can actually harm the fundraising efforts of startups by proxy. Interesting panel at British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Accelerate conference. Listening to exit strategies in these turbulent times with Ben Shribman Amelia Armour Greg Bennett CFA and Nils Howland. Investor confidence is crucial in the VC market. Without UK companies going public, private equity is less likely to back mid-sized businesses, and VCs won't have buyers for startups. We need to restore investor confidence to pre-Brexit levels.
