We built this year a solution that has a potential to change how we treat forests in Europe. We named the product Impact Forestry - we will reward landowners if they move away from clear cutting and keep their forest standing. Europe has ambitious climate goals but lacks concrete actions how to get there. Impact Forestry is a concrete step towards solving that. We are using data and scientific models to choose the best behaviour for every hectare of forest in Europe. With that making European forests also more resilient to the climate change. Ingeborg Mägi was leading WWF forestry projects in Africa before, now she is leading our Impact Forestry product. She explains in the article (link in the comments) how we built this and why is it important.

European forests can play a critical role in climate mitigation, but not all forests are created equal. To tackle this, we need the tools to identify and nurture the right types of forests. Today, about three-quarters of the EU’s forests are even-aged, which makes them vulnerable to widespread destruction from extreme weather events due to climate change. For us to maximise their carbon removal potential while preserving biodiversity, we need to create resilient forest ecosystems that can adapt to this volatility. This is why we developed Impact Forestry. Our technology not only empowers landowners to accurately assess their forests' carbon removal potential, but also optimise forest management practices to enhance biodiversity and unlock their maximum capacity for climate mitigation. In our latest article, we discuss the inspiration behind our solution and how it can help the EU play a leading role in global climate action. Written by Ingeborg Mägi, our Head of Solutions, this piece offers a unique perspective on the future of Impact Forestry in the EU.
