  • 🆕 WEBINAR: ‘Integrated Digital Solutions for the Energy Sector’. Join us on 12 February 2025, from 13:00 GMT/14:00 CET as we introduce a new Call for Proposals for Feasibility Studies and Demonstration Projects for services that leverage space-based technologies to advance resilience and sustainability in the energy sector. With a focus on digital transformation, the call encourages innovative solutions that integrate digital tools such as IoT, AI, blockchain, AR/VR, and digital twins. These solutions aim to optimise electricity grid management, enable predictive maintenance, support energy storage, improve construction logistics, and streamline renewable energy management. To drive these advancements, the call emphasises the importance of robust communication infrastructures, notably 5G and satellite communications, to meet the data-intensive needs of IoT networks and real-time analytics. Proposed solutions may address areas such as smart grid management, demand response, energy storage optimisation, predictive maintenance, and the integration of renewable resources. The call is supported by members of ESA’s Energy Task Force, these stakeholders could be both collaborators and prospective users of the developed services. The opportunity is offered in collaboration with the European Space Agency - ESA's 5G/6G (NTN) Programme Office. It is anticipated that dedicated support and access to ESA's 5G/6G Hub environment capabilities will be offered to industrial contracts resulting from this Call for Proposals. • ☀️ WEBINAR: ‘Commercial Applications of Space Weather Data’, 18 February 2025, 10:00 GMT/11:00 CET. Join us as we introduce a new funding opportunity for Enabling Studies to support industry in assessing the technical and economic viability of commercial services that leverage space weather data. Space weather is defined as the physical and phenomenological state of natural space environments. Observation, monitoring, analysis and modelling of the state of the Sun and interplanetary and planetary environments help us to understand its state and the possible impacts on Earth. Domains that would potentially benefit from the monitoring, assessment and prediction of space weather impacts on various infrastructure, include: • Electricity Networks • Natural Resource Pipelines • Aviation • Railways • Resource exploration • Satellite Operations Find more detailed information and register for the webinar ➡️ https://lnkd.in/enmXiR9a

  • 🌿 NEW WEBINAR: ‘Space Supporting Environmental Claims’, 29 January 2025, 10:00 GMT/11:00 CET. Join us as we introduce a new opportunity offering funding to European teams interested in developing services that provide support and evidence for environmental claims and labelling. As awareness of climate change grows, consumers are increasingly shifting towards ecofriendly products and sustainable alternatives. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and sustainability, have become a major part of marketing strategies. While many businesses are genuinely pursuing these corporate social goals, some enterprises have exploited these trends to mislead consumers. In March 2024, the European parliament approved the Green Claim Directive (GCD) to combat ‘greenwashing’ and protect consumers. It mandates that environmental claims and labels must be reliable, comparable, and verifiable. Satellite applications are indispensable for monitoring and validating these claims, offering unparalleled reach and consistent data capture. For example, Earth observation satellites can measure and monitor greenhouse gas emissions at scale across complex supply chains and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) can help to pinpoint the precise location of polluting or illegal events in real-time.
