Many housing researchers, including Steve Pomeroy and Mike Moffatt, PhD, and advocates such as HousingNowTO decry the pervasive miasma of inadequate and 'secret' data in Canada. My former colleagues at Housing Assessment Resource Tools (HART), together with my current colleagues at School of Cities, University of Toronto and Canadian Urban Institute, have put together a summary of the barriers to open data on public land in Canada. The second annual Central Texas Affordability Summit was recently held by Amplify Credit Union on May 23. The event brought together Amplify members, Mayor Kirk Watson, and a panel consisting of Heather Donahue from MOD Architecture and Design, Jeremy Striffler from Austin ISD, and Hannah Rangel from the Downtown Austin Alliance.
