Please consider donating to the Baltimore Community Foundation's Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund if you are able. After the tragic collapse of the Key Bridge, the BCF created this fund to "provide a secure way for Baltimoreans and those who care for them to contribute to the recovery and resilience of Baltimore". 100% of all donated funds will go towards the following immediate and ongoing needs: • Families: BCF will work with the Baltimore Civic Fund and credible efforts to strengthen the immediate relief provided to families. BCF’s focus will be on addressing residual and long-lasting effects for children of the deceased and survivors. • First Responders: Support for civilian tugboat operators, law enforcement and members of the U.S. Coast Guard whose needs will emerge in the weeks and months to come. • Port Workers: BCF will identify the right partners for cash assistance, employment and job placement and provide support to port workers who have been displaced. Support will augment any relief from government to address this need. • Small Businesses: Small businesses in Southeast Baltimore County communities (ie. Dundalk, Essex, and Edgemere) will face significant disruption. As the issues facing the local economy come into focus, the Fund will be positioned to provide relief in terms of technical assistance and other forms of relief to support this vital sector. • Memorializing the Tragedy: An important part of healing and resilience, BCF is exploring conversations about how to best memorialize the meaning and legacy of the symbol of the port, the Key bridge, the victims, and all those affected.

What does a strong partnership between funders, community organizers, collaborative practitioners, and other stakeholders look like in movement-building work? At last month’s Collective Impact Forum Action Summit, FSG CEO John Harper moderated an incredible plenary conversation with Jason Q. Purnell of James S. McDonnell Foundation and Charli Cooksey of WEPOWER. 10 years after Ferguson, they spoke on power-building, trust, and how they are partnering to sustain the movement for racial and economic justice in St. Louis. Some insights from the conversation: 💭 We need to activate the entire ecosystem in order to sustain and scale movements. 💭 Collaboration needs to be someone’s job — a well-resourced part of their job. 💭 Philanthropy alone is not enough. Philanthropy needs to be a resource to activate the power and scale of government and the private sector. Watch the full recording: https://lnkd.in/eXh6jv8T

The ethical considerations of nonprofit investments involve ensuring that investment decisions align with the organization's mission, values, and ethical principles. This includes considering factors such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, avoiding investments in industries or companies that conflict with the organization's mission or values, and prioritizing investments that generate positive social or environmental impact. Additionally, nonprofit leaders must balance financial considerations with ethical considerations, striving to achieve both financial returns and social or environmental benefits. By incorporating ethical considerations into investment decisions, nonprofits can demonstrate their commitment to responsible investing and ethical stewardship of resources, enhancing their credibility and impact in the community. #cnrgaccountingadvisory #nonprofitethics #transparencymatters #accountablenonprofits #ethicalfinance #charityaccountability #nonprofittransparency #ethicalcharity #donortrust #financialoversight
