🚀 Thrilled to share my experience at the #ICANN80 High Level Government Meeting in #Kigali! Over 50 government representatives gathered to discuss Internet governance and digital inclusion. I had the honor of meeting the German delegation led by the Minister of Transport and ICT, Dr. Volker Wissing. 🤝 We delved into the exciting collaboration between Hooza Media and Deutsche Welle, the German public, state owned broadcaster, bringing content through low-tech mobile phone solutions to rural African communities. In Tanzania, our Kiswahili service reaches an impressive 50,000 subscribers who access local news, education, and entertainment on their feature phones in voice format, without the need for internet. This initiative underscores the essential role of innovation in digital inclusion and grassroots participation in social discourse. 📱 The Hooza Mobile Governance service showcases Rwanda's potential for fostering innovative solutions that can thrive across the continent. Noones media connect; the future we are building #Noones Media Connect is an interactive meetup with key #web3 media platforms in Africa aimed at showcasing what Noones is building. The Media connect session led by #Frisco d’Anconia, featured Ray Youssef and #Nnamdi.  Ray Youssef the founder of Noones began the session by sharing his vision and advocating for #African unity. His main insights are that more regulation is not going to solve African problems. Overregulation stops commerce creates poverty and makes the cycle worse. How will noones go around regulation: The company is open to any regulation from any jurisdiction. Regulation has to be reasonable. For example, asking for all data from users is not reasonable. #Noones will never sell user information in exchange for a license. Regulation in most cases is not meant to help but to stifle new business innovations.
