Casella Partners with Chocolate Church to Expand Recycling Education 🍫 ✏️ In partnership with the Chocolate Church Arts Center, Casella brought trashologist Dr. T to the Bath, ME community. Sponsoring admission for a full audience of local students, our collaboration highlights the importance of recycling through an entertaining and educational experience to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. ♻️ “Educating kids on the importance of recycling is so important,” said Erin Banfield Director of Municipal Services. “Jack’s message so closely aligns with Casella’s sustainability and recycling commitment. We could not be more excited to be included, participate, and put on this awesome experience for the local school.”

How to build a case with Impact (and Love) 💚🤝 At Cents we are strongly driven by the willingness to empower communities to contribute meaningfully to environmental and social Causes. To do this, it is crucial that companies take an approach geared towards generating impact over time. In this sense, Greenweez Italia is proving to be a key partner, both in terms of vision and commitment which Celine Dumas and Francesca Rollo push further everyday. After the extraordinary success of the pilot project - where we collected 1,670 contributions in favour of Fondo Forestale Italiano - our synergy continues to strengthen, this time in support of The Black Bag, a company focused on beach cleaning and environmental education, one of the first to join our network. Our innovative software solution facilitates this process by allowing responsible customers to donate 1€ per order, directly aiding The Black Bag's efforts in preserving beaches and marine biodiversity. This partnership ensures that every contribution, no matter how small, has a significant impact on our environment. This initiative is especially meaningful to me due to the personal bond with Andrea Canepa, founder of The Black Bag. Andrea believed in the potential of Cents from the beginning. His dedication to environmental preservation and his visionary leadership have been truly inspiring, both for me and Alessio Mazzalupi. Over the years, we have succeeded in giving visibility to their Cause, making The Black Bag today one of the local organisations that has raised the most through our solution. Our work together reaffirms my belief that, through lasting collaboration, true change can be driven. This is because what underpins change is first and foremost the love for a Cause, the tireless desire to do the best for others and to leave the world a little better than how it was when we arrived, an element that can never be lacking.

Traditional leadership………………… Working hand-in-hand with traditional leadership empowers local communities to take ownership of conservation initiatives. By involving community leaders in decision-making processes and project implementation, we foster a sense of pride, unity, and responsibility that is crucial for the long-term success and sustainability of environmental interventions. Traditional leaders possess a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of ecosystems, people, and culture. By integrating their knowledge with modern science and technology, we can develop comprehensive solutions that address environmental challenges while also promoting social cohesion and economic resilience within communities. Collaboration with the traditional leadership fosters partnerships built on mutual respect, trust, and shared values. By co-creating conservation and sustainability initiatives with local leaders, we can leverage their influence, networks, and local expertise to drive meaningful change at the grassroots level and beyond. Together we can build a more sustainable and harmonious future for all.

🙏Honoured that the entry I put forward for Arup and Conservation Volunteers Australia ‘s #sharedvalue thought leadership research ( Biodiversity in your backyard: the future of nature in your hands) and subsequent release of the content at the Leaders For Nature forum (a cohort of 15 C suite leaders all committed to delivering environmental solutions) has meant we are now a *finalist* in the ✨Shared Value Awards!✨ Wow! 🌳The challenge we set ourselves was identifying the *potential* of turning 30 per cent of the available spaces in cities and towns into biodiverse areas - highlighting how much of an opportunity for nature this would provide and what we needed to make it happen 🌳 Given virtually half of Australia’s threatened species live in urban areas (alongside 96% of the population) as our need for homes grows - so do theirs. Businesses could help scale a much bigger response. The opportunity we had to work with insightful knowledgeable leaders like Sophie St John to secure our rich findings was immense for a Not For Profit. A pleasure working with such brains 🧠 who gave so much of their free time outside of the pro bono project agreed. The results? #Sydney #Brisbane #Melbourne - has the potential to cumulatively create 127 hectares of habitat by creating 1 metre x 1 metre square ‘shoebox size’ spaces for nature on decks, on balconies and in cities - via scaling an action called #NatureBlocks 🌳🦋 ✨I am very grateful to Arup for their support, their research has helped build the business case for nature and convince leaders at the forum that we need a “systems” approach to scale change for our environmental challenges. ✨ Thank you to my cohort of leaders at Leaders For Nature committing to do more for #people #planet #nature. Businesses can scale impact for #biodiversity and go ‘beyond the spreadsheet’ requirements for ESG. Seeing that Lowell and Russ did this, I figured I would follow suit. Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor: In 2024, I discovered that the principles of spiritual leadership aren't just compatible with association management and nonprofit growth - they're essential to it. Clarifying intention while providing direction creates lasting change. This year proved what's possible when we bridge traditional divides: Leading with Purpose: • Appointed to U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management faculty, bringing mission-driven leadership principles to association management education • Elected Co-Vice President at Conservation Minnesota, expanding environmental protection through strategic leadership • Earned #QualifiedAssociationSpecialist certification, deepening expertise in association effectiveness Building Community Impact: • Expanded consulting impact through #mission-aligned partnerships • Developed new frameworks for #engagement-first growth • Advanced spiritual care innovation through SpirituWell Three insights that resonated deeply with our community: "It's not how many you serve--it's how you serve." On reimagining impact through member-centered benefits https://lnkd.in/g3zF-XMG "Since its commencement in 1921, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management has been educating tens of thousands of association, chamber, and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations." On bringing mission-driven principles to association education https://lnkd.in/gT2S3AXg "Conservation Minnesota is dedicated to protecting people and places from pollution and climate change, ensuring everyone in Minnesota can enjoy the Great Outdoors." On expanding environmental impact through strategic leadership https://lnkd.in/gpByGtMJ Looking ahead to 2025: Focused on advancing association management excellence, expanding access to spiritual care, and driving environmental protection through mission-aligned leadership. The opportunity lies in bridging traditional divides to create lasting positive change. To our growing community of mission-driven leaders - thank you for proving that intention plus direction creates lasting change. The world needs your light now more than ever.

🌱 We're excited to announce that we've made it to the final of the Shared Value Project Award 2024 under the 'Climate and Nature Solutions' Category! Our project with Hang Lung Properties has been recognised for its commitment to #WasteReduction and #sustainability. 🏆 At SOS, we understand the importance of waste management and its impact on the environment. SOS is dedicated to changing the way office furniture and equipment is handled and believe we have a responsibility to keep unwanted items from ending up in landfills for as long as possible. We aim to create a #sustainable, #CircularEconomy ♻️ that does away with the old take-make-waste fast furniture model of old. In collaboration with Hang Lung Properties, one of the leading developers in Hong Kong, we undertook a project to handle unwanted furniture and equipment sustainably, ensuring they stay out of landfills. As the chosen project managers, we implemented various initiatives, including client reuse, staff take-home, community donation (with special thanks to Crossroads Foundation for assisting us in connecting with their network for distribution), and local recycling. Based on our ISO14064-2 aligned calculation methodology, this project has saved 510,990 kgCO2e in carbon emissions and diverted over 139,508 kg of weight from landfills. This project is a great example of sustainable practices. Hang Lung, being one of the biggest developers in Hong Kong, sets a strong example with its commitment to sustainability. We hope this project inspires more businesses to take similar steps, creating a positive impact in our community. #SustainableOfficeSolutions #Sustainablity #SharedValue #CorporateReputation #ESG #leadership #thoughtleadership
