How Women Built a Multimillion-Dollar UI/UX Design Reaching $1 million in revenue is a monumental challenge for small businesses, with only 2.3% of #womenownedbusinesses achieving this milestone, as I write in my latest Forbes article. OAK THEORY, a #UI/#UX design firm co-founded by Hannah Ryu and Veronica Shelton, is among the few to break this barrier. Their success story highlights the power of a strong business partnership, a stellar reputation resulting in referrals, SEO savvy, a supportive global network—including peer support groups like Entrepreneurs Organization—and being a part of supplier diversity programs. been instrumental in its rapid growth since launching during the Covid-19 lockdown. Ryu and Shelton’s diverse perspectives drive innovation in #UXUI design, emphasizing empathy, attention to detail, and inclusivity. Their journey underscores the importance of a global entrepreneurial support village, work flexibility, and the undeniable impact of supplier diversity in achieving business success. Lately,I've realized that... If the foundation of your UX is not strong and well detailed, you will have lots of challenge as a designer. Iterations are normal...but if this is not properly fixed by you or "Oga"...there will be so much back and forth. I was having a chat with my teamates today on a group call and I remembered telling everyone the need to revisit our UX.... something seems to be off! That was the basis for the almost two hours of call three of us had today Khafilat Akinpelu Progress Orishade and myself... Funnily, before the end of the call...we realized some things we neglected due to time constraints...we discovered how pivotal they are to our design process and we are iterating accordingly(still ongoing) Now,this is my concern...I'm aware that most startups want to jump "the gun" and rush to the design part without a detailed UX process (due to funds or possibly time factor). But it got me thinking on how we churn out products without detailed UX...the one we jokingly call "Oga centered design"! I know we want to make money and all...but, ain't we leaving out fundamentals from our products?... I was working on a card sort and other UX processes today, and at the same time wondering how many products go through this thorough research methods... Or perhaps it's just an overthinking and nothing deep...do you think it is deep? 📸 Snapshot of an ongoing UX research work. #randommusings #uxdesigner #Womenintech #uxresearch.

📲 "Embracing Design Thinking in Tech Development" Ever wonder how great apps are born? It all starts with a simple, yet powerful approach called design thinking. Design thinking is our guiding star in the tech universe. It's a thorough yet flexible process that enables us to create apps and cloud services that aren't just functional but also intuitive and user-friendly. We start by immersing ourselves in understanding the user's world—what you need from your technology, how you interact with it, and what can make it better for you. It's about getting to the core of your daily challenges and aspirations. With this understanding, we transition to ideation, where every idea is welcomed. We map out possibilities and outline features that could enhance your digital experience. This stage is a brainstorming session taken to the next level, powered by technology insights and user-driven data. Then, we bring those ideas live with prototyping. Here's where we build a preliminary version of the product—something you can see, touch, and give us feedback on. It's a critical phase where we iterate rapidly, incorporating your input to refine the product. Testing follows, which isn't just a one-off check for bugs. It's an ongoing process to ensure that the technology we develop aligns perfectly with your needs, works flawlessly, and is ready for real-world use. At every stage, design thinking keeps us focused on creating technological solutions that aren't just about bits and bytes but about people and how they live and work. It's technology developed with precision and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Join us on this journey of innovation—where technology is personal, impactful, and above all, human-centric. #DesignThinking #TechDevelopment #UserExperience #AppInnovation #CloudComputing #DigitalExcellence #InnovationJourney #TechnologySolutions #UserDrivenDesign #TechWithPurpose #novizcoinfotech
