Are you celebrating this Friday? March 1st is Employee Appreciation Day, a time to celebrate and honor the contributions and achievements of your staff. While you know how much they contribute to the success of your business, it doesn’t count unless you show and tell them. There are numerous benefits to expressing your gratitude: 1️⃣ Reduces Turnover: Grateful employees are more likely to stay with the company. 2️⃣ Fosters a positive work environment for co-workers, which clients notice! 3️⃣ Promotes employee well-being, reducing accidents & errors. 4️⃣ Increases engagement leads to improved systems/processes which is reflected in the bottom line. And there are so many ways to show appreciation on March 1st along with every other day of the year. Don’t let price stop you, here are ideas that cost next to nothing: 🟠 Appreciation notes: Handwritten thanks of a specific accomplishment or quality you appreciate. 🟠 Social media: Post a “Shout out” for each employee about their contributions to your company. 🟠 Suggestion box: If you value your employees’ opinions (and you should), set up a system to gather ideas and give feedback. Implement the suggestions when possible. 🟠 Puppy time: Have a local animal shelter/pet store to bring some puppies or kittens to the office – holding/petting animals releases stress and makes for a fun break from work. And if you want to spend a little to gain that good will, here are some low-cost ideas: ✅ Branded gear ✅ Breakroom treats ✅ Employee massages The most important part of showing appreciation is sincerity. Take the time and effort to acknowledge each employee’s specific contribution. You’ll like the positive workplace that you, your employees, and customers want to be a part of. Leave a comment on how you're showing thanks to your team.

Time to recognise and celebrate your people 🥳 At the end of the year, there are oodles of celebrations—team celebrations, work nights out, office parties galore! We know very well how organising them can be a total headache 😩 You'll be swamped with a ton of very bland, very boring party offerings. Everything is focused on a bar tab, beige buffet, and laptop DJ—BORING. If we've learned anything from the many, many parties we put on, doing things differently makes a massive impact on how employees experience your brand 🪄 These are the moments they'll remember. Tis the time to show 'em you appreciate them! This is why we love Humbug - the answer to all our party-planning prayers. Humbug is a venue unlike any other. It's not just a bar; it's a fully themed festive wonderland that has never been seen or used before. From the present tunnel to a Mariah Carey shrine, Santa's grotto, and enough festive decor to cheer up Scrooge, every corner of Humbug is designed to transport you to a world of magic that you won't find anywhere else ✨ We're talking live music, cabaret, themed cocktails, top-tier street food and confetti-filled surprises around every corner. ALL TAKEN CARE OF! 😍 Spread across two floors (including an outdoor area), book a 2pm launch spot or later on at 7pm. It's perfect for groups of 13+ to 228. Come as a team celebration or bring your whole company! So, if it's time to start the P.A.R.T.Y PLANNING, get in touch! We'd love to help you build a party that will go down with your people as the G.O.A.T! Dates available from November 15th to 23rd December. Drop me a message at hello@culturesthatpop.co.uk 🎉 Love Team POP! #recognition #celebration #partytime #brandexperience #officeparty #events #employeeexperience #employeeengagement

Ever had one of those 'A-ha' moments? I just did, thanks to @carmel! Turns out today is Employee Appreciation Day. With hustle culture on full swing, it's all too easy to forget to pause and recognise the everyday superheroes in our workplace. 🦸♂️🦸♀️ But here's the thing - appreciation shouldn't just be an annual event; it's the daily 'thank yous', the consistent recognition of small victories, and the genuine support for growth that truly matter. Yet, I couldn't help but wonder, amidst the flurry of congratulatory messages and gestures, "Where's my appreciation gone?" 😂 All jest aside, I'm taking a moment to appreciate not just my team, but also to nudge myself - and you - to cherish those who make our workdays brighter, our tasks easier and our goals achievable. From the brainstorming buddies to the coffee-run champions, every role is pivotal. 🌟 Adele Evans Carmel Curley @connorcleary @pennysheppard So tell me, how are you shining the spotlight on your team today? Let's keep the conversation going - drop your stories below! And hey, why not tag the colleague who's made a real difference in your day? What a heartwarming surprise to return to my desk and find a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine waiting for me! It's moments like these that truly remind me of the incredible appreciation our employees have for the work we do in HR. We've all seen those memes joking about the trials and tribulations of HR, and yes, sometimes a glass (or bottle) of wine seems like the perfect remedy! But today, it's not about the wine; it's about the gesture and the genuine gratitude behind it. To all our amazing employees: THANK YOU! Your thoughtfulness means more to us than you can imagine. We don't need material things; seeing you happy at work is the greatest reward. Knowing that we're making a positive impact on your experience motivates us beyond measure. So here's to all of you! Let's continue to foster a workplace where appreciation and support are abundant, and where every member of our team feels valued and empowered. Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time to indulge in some chocolates (because let's face it, Figolla over the weekend just wasn't enough!) #EmployeeAppreciation #HRHeroes #Gratitude #WorkplaceCulture

Happy Employee Appreciation Day 💙 As we celebrate today, let's not forget that the acts of appreciation should not be confined to just this occasion. Whether it's fostering better relations between managers and their teams or jazzing up communication among coworkers, the power of simple acts like a smile and kind words knows no bounds. Here are just a handful of elementary but effective ways of showing your appreciation: 👁️🗨️ Recognition: Acknowledge your coworkers for their efforts and effects regularly. 👂Active Listening: Tune in to their ideas and dish out some constructive feedback. 💁♂️ Assistance: Lend a hand and offer support whenever it's needed. 🎉 Celebration: Give a shout-out and throw confetti for those wins, big or small. 💌 Random Acts: Incorporate small gestures of kindness into your routine. All these - and more - can make your colleagues smile (remember, it’s contagious!) Plus, let's not forget the benefits a smile brings to our mental and physical well-being. So, let's spread the good vibes far and wide! Tag a coworker you appreciate below 👇 #getresponse #employeeappreciationday #employeeappreciation

🎃 Learning from Tater: A Halloween Lesson in HR 🎃 Meet Tater, my loyal companion, who recently got into the Halloween spirit at The Pink Poodle Pet Spa! 🐾 His patience, loyalty, and unconditional love remind me daily of the qualities that are essential not just for dogs but for thriving HR professionals. Tater’s ability to adapt, even when surrounded by spooky pumpkins and spiderwebs, teaches me resilience—an important trait in today’s dynamic workplace. Whether navigating the challenges of change management or fostering a culture of inclusivity, adaptability is key. 🐶 What I Learn from Tater: 1. Loyalty: Be there for your team, just like our furry friends stand by us. 2. Adaptability: Face challenges with courage, even when things seem a little scary (like Halloween decor!). 3. Positivity: Bring joy to those around you—sometimes, all it takes is a wag of the tail (or a supportive message) to make someone’s day. As HR leaders, we have the opportunity to create environments where teams feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow, just like Tater does for me every day. Let’s take a page out of our pets' playbook this Halloween season and bring some light, warmth, and maybe a little spookiness into our workplaces! 🎃 #HR #Leadership #HalloweenFun #DogsOfLinkedIn #LearningFromPets #TeamCulture #Adaptability
