In this IG live we unpacked how men can take charge of their health with different forms of self-care (physical fitness, mental health and building healthy relationships). Men's Health Week: time for a health MOT. Last year, Men's Health Week focused on raising awareness of how men were impacted by Covid-19 and its aftereffects. This year, the theme highlights the importance of taking stock of your overall health now that the worst of Covid-19 is over. It’s crucial to recognise the importance of regular check-ups and addressing any health concerns. This Men's Health Week, we encourage all our hardworking men to seek professional advice and support for health-related issues. Remember, it's okay to ask for help. Your health, both physical and mental, is your greatest asset. Share this message to help break the stigma! More info here: https://ow.ly/K6y650S04U8 #MensHealthWeek #MentalHealthMatters

International Men’s Day highlights the importance of men's health, well-being, and contributions to society. In the medical world, it reminds us to address men’s health issues proactively, including mental health, early screenings for chronic conditions, and promoting healthy lifestyles. It also underscores the need for a gender-sensitive approach in healthcare, emphasizing that open conversations and awareness can lead to better outcomes for men and their families. #HappyInternationalMensDay

🌟 Men's Health Week: A Personal Journey and Important Lessons 🌟 As we mark Men's Mental Health Week, I want to share some personal reflections and insights from my journey of growing a counselling organisation. While the purpose was driven with hope for change, the path has been fraught with challenges, including imposter syndrome, burnout, and anxiety, which sometimes manifested physically, leading to multiple A&E visits for chest pains and heart attack scares. The pressure to build something meaningful while maintaining a facade of strength was overwhelming. I felt that I shouldn't burden others and that I had to handle everything alone because this was "my doing. (this is also all the while being a reflective psychotherapist). This mindset led to significant stress and isolation. From my experiences, here are some hopefully useful tips: 1. Don't Go It Alone: No one can do everything themselves. We are tribal animals, built to survive and thrive together. Reach out for support; it's a sign of strength, not weakness. 🤝 2. Embrace Imperfection: Aiming for perfection sets you up for failure. Accept that sometimes "good enough" is truly good enough. Perfectionism can be a relentless and unachievable goal. 🎯 3. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: Focus on what truly matters. Letting go of minor issues can significantly reduce stress. 💡 4. Leverage Your Team: Surround yourself with people smarter than you and focus on your strengths. You can't do everything, so don't kid yourself into trying. 🧠 5. Work to Live, Don't Live to Work: Remember, everything ends. It's okay to work hard, but balance is crucial. The only ones who will remember the nights and weekends you worked are your kids. So, attend their plays, join their sports clubs, or finish that piece of LEGO. These moments matter more than you can imagine. 🏡❤️ 6. Be Kind to Yourself: You don't tell yourself enough, but you are amazing and deserve to look after yourself. Self-care isn't selfish; it's essential. 🌿 Despite men making up less than 20% of the counselling profession in the UK, our presence is vital. The journey may be tough, but by supporting each other and fostering open discussions about mental health, we can create a more inclusive and understanding environment for everyone. Let's continue this conversation and support each other in our mental health journeys. 💙 If you need to speak to someone, don't wait or hold off. Speak to a therapist confidentially at BetterU. It’s International Men’s Day today, so let’s talk about men’s health It’s no secret—men are statistically less likely to visit the doctor regularly. Whether it’s due to busy schedules, hesitation, or thinking “it’s probably nothing,” this delay often leads to health issues going undetected until it’s too late. At Salu, we believe preventive care can change that. With regular health check-ups, full body analyses, mental health support, and personalized screenings, it’s easier than ever to take charge of your well-being. 💡 The best care is proactive care! This Men’s Day, consider making your health a priority. Join Salu’s Health Coverage today and get your first month free with code SALU4HEALTH—complete with all the preventive tools you need to stay ahead of health concerns. 👉 https://lnkd.in/d-NVNtjU P.S. June is National Men's Health Awareness Month, a time to focus on the health and well-being of men everywhere. It's important for men to prioritize their health and take proactive steps to prevent and manage any potential health issues. This month, let's encourage the men in our lives to schedule regular check-ups with their healthcare providers, eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and manage stress effectively. It's also important for men to be aware of their family history and any potential risk factors for certain health conditions. By taking care of their physical and mental health, men can lead longer, healthier lives and be there for their loved ones for years to come. Let's all work together to raise awareness and support men's health this month and beyond. #MensHealthAwarenessMonth #MensHealthMatters
