Imitate the practice. 🌱 In hospice care, we can learn a lot from Brené's approach. Creating a safe space for end-of-life discussions involves trust, openness, and a judgment-free zone. 🤗 1. Start with empathy – understand the unique journey of each patient and family. 2. Cultivate openness – encourage sharing feelings without fear of judgment. 3. Foster a supportive environment – ensure everyone feels heard and respected. The results will follow. 🌟 Join our community to normalize the conversation about end-of-life care. 💬 #EndOfLifeCare #HospiceSupport #CompassionateConversations #normalizingtheconversation

It had been Priscilla's lifelong dream to work in healthcare. However, when she started working at the clinic, she noticed there was no access to reliable and safe water, which made caring for patients very challenging. In collaboration with Kamwenge District, Water For People built a piped water system that supplies reliable water service to Priscilla’s clinic. She says it has completely changed the level of care they can provide. "With water available, patients’ hygiene has improved," Priscilla shares. "This in turn has led to improvement in community hygiene, preventing the spread of infections." Read her story on our website: https://ow.ly/SzJV50UmKxg

Hospice and palliative care enhance patients' and families' quality of life during end-of-life care. A recent study shows that patients’ use of hospice care contributed to $3.5 billion in savings for Medicare in 2019 while providing multiple benefits to patients, families, and caregivers. And only 51% of Medicare decedents in 2019 used hospice services. Let's support our caregivers in championing the best care for their patients. #valuebasedcare #populationhealth
