Conversations about consent are vital, and two incredible Indigenous leaders, Dr Anita Heiss and D. Joel Wenitong, are leading the way with the Australian Government's Consent Can't Wait campaign. Did you know that 48% of Australians are still unclear about the meaning of sexual consent? Dr Heiss and Dr Wenitong are here to change that, especially for First Nations communities, through powerful new videos and resources tailored to promote open, respectful conversations. 💬 Dr Joel Wenitong, a proud Kabi Kabi man, explains: "Consent means everyone involved must agree with what's happening, know exactly what's going on, and be having fun." 💬 Dr Anita Heiss, a Wiradjuri woman and acclaimed author, adds: "Yarning about sexual consent helps make things safer for everyone, which means a lifetime of respectful, strong relationships." Starting these yarns might feel a little awkward, but it’s worth it. Consent is about free, voluntary, and informed agreement—and it starts with understanding and communication. 📘 Check out the First Nations Conversation Guide and other resources to help you and your community navigate these essential discussions. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gimT5Bff
