It’s a charge that has been rolled out often enough: artworks so seemingly simple in design that the creative effort involved would apparently not challenge a 5-year-old. At the same time, some of these works are considered to be among the world’s greatest paintings, hanging in important museums, or up for sale in major auction houses with eye-watering price tags. Clearly there is more to it than facile technique, but what, exactly? In our latest blog post we look at the question of complexity in 'simple' works by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Josef Albers, and Jackson Pollock, and considering how we can tackle authenticity issues. One of three Peace Paintings, titled "And Our Heroes Have Misplaced Their Map" is exhibited in the first Lincolnshire Virtual Open exhibition here: https://lnkd.in/espiSTT3 I'm very sceptical about including my work anywhere locally, as I really need buyers to buy my work, not those who want to grift my ideas for "inspiration". And my work always sells anywhere else. This is why I have not included the Monaco paintings. The Monaco paintings are meant to be exhibited in Monaco to wealthy art collectors. This is the aim. 1:Aim 2: Believe 3: Receive. Follow the instructions to purchase work. Thankyou.

Fubon Art Museum in Taipei is for rich folks Someone commented on the cable report aired the morning of June 4, 2024 regarding the newly-opened Fubon Art Museum in Taipei that the Monet exhibit being pathetic in scope. The report exposes the admission of NT$1,200 charged by said art gallery, as does the attached report of June 3, 2024, that is far more expensive than that at the most famous art galleries globally. The gallery in Taipei even sells cookies for NT$3,500. Another Taiwanese said in a FB post that the Fubon gallery is for rich folks. The spokeswoman for the gallery says the building is designed by famous architects for a princely sum and the admission price is based on the user-pays principle. The simple fact is that the greatest artist ever--Mother Nature--exhibits her masterpieces across the world for free, including the 4 shown in southern Thailand and on the west coast of Canada. Why pay to see manmade artworks that are ho-hum in comparison? #FubonArtMuseumInTaipeiIsForRichFolks https://lnkd.in/g6DzaZvUu

NEW ARTICLE FROM OUR ART AND MUSEUMS TEAM 🎨 A new decision from the Supreme Court of Tasmania draws the line between illegal discrimination and lawful promotion of equal opportunity in the art sector. In April 2024, a Tasmanian administrative tribunal found that the art installation “The Ladies Lounge” at the Mona - Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania, constituted illegal discrimination against men. The reason was simple enough: men were not allowed entry into the Ladies Lounge. 🙅 Thus, the museum was ordered to stop refusing entry to those who did not identify as “ladies”. This ruling has now been quashed by the Tasmanian Supreme Court. In this article, we summarize the background of the case and the Supreme Court’s key findings. A link to the full judgment is available at the end of the article. ⚖️
