"I believe when people are able to be understood, validated, recognized, and celebrated for who they are as unique individuals with shared intersecting identities and cultural touchpoints, people can thrive. Any organization is going to be healthier for ensuring every single employee can thrive. DEIB is so important because it is about every single person engaging in the journey toward that reality." - Rose Wasielewski, Learner Services Training Coordinator and Chair of DEIB Day Subcommittee
At ReUp, we believe that every individual brings a unique and valuable perspective to our team. In May, ReUp team members participated in the very first DEIB Day, a time to reflect on our ongoing commitment to create a culture where everyone feels understood, validated, and celebrated.
Our journey towards a more inclusive workplace is not just a one-day event; it is a year-round commitment. DEIB Day provided an opportunity for team members to come together, share our stories, and learn from one another. Workshops throughout the day deepened our understanding of DElB work, with discussions on cultural humility, accessibility and disability awareness, company values alignment, and a deep dive into the "Roles" chapter from Lily Zheng's DEI Deconstructed.
"DEIB Day is one way we celebrate and reflect upon our year-round efforts, learn from and with one another, and understand the power within each of our roles and departments to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging outcomes both at ReUp and with those we serve." - Kris Gleason, Manager of Training, Development, and Quality
Our commitment to DEIB is rooted in the belief that a diverse and inclusive workplace is essential for innovation and success. By embracing our differences and fostering an environment of belonging, we empower every team member to bring their full selves to work, leading to greater creativity, collaboration, and impact.
