Esports is still extremely dependent on sponsors. According to G2 Esports CEO Alban Dechelotte, only 20% of the #RocketLeague team's costs can be covered by direct revenue from competitions or support from the publisher. The rest has to be covered by #sponsors. 📈 Diversifying revenue streams is one of the biggest challenges for #esports in the coming years. Other sources of income need to be developed and expanded to ensure constant, long-term growth. ⚽️ For comparison: In the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga (football), only 25% of the clubs' total revenue comes from sponsorship.
