𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰 👨👩👧🎉 As a family business, we prioritize the well-being of not only our employees but also their families. That’s why, as we celebrate both Father's Day and Mother's Day in Germany this week, it's a perfect moment to appreciate the incredible parents among our #WeTeam at #Welotec. Lena-Marie, our Sales Assistant, talks about her time during her parental leave, "From walks to a family trip to Spain, returning to work at 27.5 hours per week made the transition smooth. Welotec's flexible scheduling makes working with a child particularly enjoyable." Claudia, our Account Manager who has been on parental leave since January 2023 for 1.5 years, also shares her experiences: " We live near a park, so we spend a lot of time outdoors, go swimming, travel to the seaside, attend toddler groups, meet friends, and enjoy activities like digging, building, throwing, and dancing with the older one.” We are looking forward to welcome Claudia back to our team this autumn! Last but not least, Sascha, our Head of Marketing, cherished his "Dad Time," focusing on quality moments at home with his son: "Enjoying every precious moment without the stress of travel was essential. Our first visit to the market, a trip to the library and, of course, the unforgettable day at the zoo were not to be missed!” At Welotec, we ensure that working parents benefit from flexible working arrangements, from part-time to hybrid models, so that everyone can excel in their careers without compromising on #family time. This approach not only boosts morale but also drives our collective success, embodying our commitment to joy and success in everything we do. How do you balance #career ambitions with family responsibilities? Let's share and inspire each other. #happyfathersday #happymothersday #maternityleave #worklifebalance

Shout out to all the Workwives. Especially to my incredible workwife, TIFFANY MOLLOY Tiff, your support has not only made me a better architect but also a proud business owner. We embarked on this Liife journey together, and your early contributions and foundational support have shaped Liife into what it is today. Thank you! I’ve found my ‘why’. Today marks the last day of my maternity leave and I’ll be back at Headstar HQ on Monday with a new drive and sense of purpose; to provide the best life for my daughter and strive to be the best role model for her as she grows up. That doesn’t mean to say I won’t be sobbing after dropping her off at nursery for her first day. It doesn’t mean I won’t rush back home on Monday to see her before bedtime. It doesn’t mean that I won’t be checking my phone constantly for updates. That’s all OK too. So shout out to all the working parents out there, juggling a career and a young family. I have a whole new level of respect for you now 💪🏻 If you’re reading this and you’re thinking of a career move, or hiring someone new for your team, or just generally want to pass on your words of wisdom as a working parent, then you’d really make my first week back if you got in touch on 07710239215. I’m really looking forward to catching up with you all. This photo was taken at Lake Braies in the Italian Dolomites. She’s had some great adventures already, and she’s not even one yet! #workingmum #workingparents #flexibleworking #careermum #recruitment #financerecruitment #financialcontroller #financedirector #leeds

On June 26, 2024, I took my longest uninterrupted leave from Viva for my wife and I to welcome our first newborn. As a founder, I felt anxious due to the conflicting responsibility of being present for both my family and team. But I had to practice what I preach to my team: to prioritize health, family, and career in that order. And my time off ended up being anxiety-free. Here’s how it happened: 3 months before my leave, my Executive Assistant proactively researched how we should prepare and shared learnings with me during our daily sync. At the time it felt early, but it gave me immense peace of mind that she was thinking of this and that we’d have a plan in place well before my planned time off. Next, she created a Notion page with all the information we needed to pull together prior to the leave. She took a first pass and then I filled in any gaps. It included three sections: 1/ People - alternate point of contact for any critical decisions. 2/ Processes - documentation of any process performed by me so it could be performed effectively by someone else. (It also included what to do in case of an emergency.) 3/ Systems - ensuring the right people had access to the right systems. Going through the whole process of preparing for the leave enabled me to make myself obsolete from more processes permanently, which was awesome. We’ve turned the Notion page created for me into a simple template for anyone to use and we’re excited to open source it. If you’re an executive preparing for a parental leave or an executive assistant helping an executive do so, send me a DM and my EA will send you the template. It’ll be one less thing for you to worry about. #grateful #ParentalLeave #executiveassistant

As the end of the year approaches, I find myself reflecting on the journeys taken - both professionally and personally. I once worked at LGE/PFL. It’s hard to believe it has been nearly 2 decades - since I first met and worked alongside my 'PFL crew'. Although we haven’t shared an office in all that time, I sometimes reminisce about how we bonded over impossible deadlines and chuckle at the absurdities we managed to survive together. I remember how easy it was to be friends, as well as colleagues. That time in our lives felt so much simpler. Less responsibility, fewer commitments, and lighter hearts. We didn’t know it then, but those really were the days, weren’t they? Seeing each other every day, sharing the most mundane or momentous details of our lives. We celebrated birthdays, weddings, welcomed new babies, navigated breakups. And we faced the unspeakable loss of Femi Sangowawa - someone who will always be missed. Behind all those shared workdays, out-of-office adventures, and spontaneous catch-ups lie a history and authentic friendships I treasure deeply. For that, I’m forever grateful! In December, I will be hosting a special Zoom-in with my former PFL colleagues. 🤩 Some of us have moved across continents, switched industries, or taken on new challenges, but the bonds we formed remain a reminder of what really matters. It'll hopefully be a good chance to remember the laughter, the struggles, and the growth we experienced together! To all my former colleagues: I can’t wait to hear where life has taken you. Let’s continue to inspire each other and carry forward the lessons we’ve learned. ⭐ #reconnect #oldfriends #gratitude #careerjourneys #endofyearreflections #linkedin

*INTRODUCING The Back to Work Voice Notes* A 3-month online programme to discover your needs and desires as a mother and support you in feeling more empowered in the workplace, through flexible 1:1 coaching via voice note and messaging on your own time. As a working mom, life is always busy! There is so much going on in your day-to-day life that you struggle to keep up with your to do lists. The mental load is real - and at the same time, you are giving all you have to look after the tiny human(s) that are so dependable on you. There’s always some laundry and/or dirty dishes to be done and the last time you actually did something for yourself was too long ago. With so much going on in your life, there is often little space to think about yourself, what you’d really want, how going back to paid employment will look like for you and your family - and how you’d like it to look like! I believe that mothers can thrive in the workplace if they are in the right place. But how can you know you are in the right place if you don’t know what it is that you really want? I’ve created the Back to Work Framework to guide mothers through this process - either before they return to work after maternity leave (be that 4 months, 6 months, a year or even several years) or in the year after returning to their paid employment. Check out my website for all infos or share the link with someone who would benefit from this support! :) Only 3 spots at a 50% introductory discount

For me, having a strong and clear “Why” has always been important. It’s provided me with direction during uncertainty and served as motivation during the tough times. My “Why” always pushes me to focus on the end goal(s) and give it my all to achieve it. Today, I return to work after 16 weeks of maternity leave, and in full transparency, I’m not exactly excited about it. Although my role is challenging and fun, my team incredible, and my leaders people focused, I’ve loved every single moment of this chapter being a full time CMO – Chief Mom Officer. Given the realities of today's world, my husband and I have determined that me returning to work is the most prudent decision for our family. I’m grateful to be with an organization that provides a 16-week parental leave and supports working parents. I’m grateful that my company is a virtual first, hybrid workplace so I can see my son at home the majority of the time. Sadly, I know many moms who went back after 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, etc. and that I am part of a much luckier group. I’m also grateful for my leadership who have been the utmost encouraging and supportive. However, US companies still have a long way to go to truly recognize the necessary length of time needed for a new mother and her baby to be together, and match the progressive maternity leave benefits in countries like Bulgaria, Greece, Canada, and the United Kingdom, to name a few. Nonetheless, as I return to work today, my “Why” has never been stronger, clearer, or more motivating. My drive to achieve excellence, smash goals, and be a passionate people-first leader, has increased exponentially. My son is my “Why” and doing my best at work means I can provide him the best in life. With that, I mourn the closing of one chapter but have my positive pants on and game face ready to take on the next. Let’s do this. #maternityleave #MATleave #parentalleave #maternityleavebenefits #workingmom
