✨ An Introduction Series: FixedByte TechWoman- What we are doing ✨ Our focus for 2024 is to build a strategic community through social impact projects, skills development, partnerships, and sustainable practices. Here's what to expect: 1. Social impact projects: Each project was carefully crafted with three key criteria in mind: sustainability, innovation, and social impact. Our ultimate goal is to create a harmonious community where women leaders drive projects that tackle the unique challenges faced by women in their respective communities. We believe in building projects that are impactful and also self-sustaining. As a result, each project is designed to operate independently, allowing it to continue making meaningful contributions to the community long after its initial launch. Our first project will be launched in June 2024 and led by Kate Ewurama Markin, Emmanuella Adamah and Sandra Eyram Aku Wagba. 2. Skills development: We are expanding our community with our 3rd cohort, offering opportunities for women to break into tech without prior experience. We're also working on scholarship offers to provide even more opportunities for our members. 3. Partnership: We don't need to reinvent the wheel. There are organizations and industry experts who are already championing areas that align with our mission. We have recently formed a partnership with FestMan Learning Hub to help us contribute to quality education and encourage women to pursue careers in tech. We are eagerly anticipating opportunities to collaborate with higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and industries. 4. Sustainable practices: Our goal is to create a self-sustaining community, and we have implemented this by carefully selecting trainees to take on leadership roles such as team leads. This ensures that even in the absence of a supervisor or instructor, operations can still run smoothly. Additionally, we are working on establishing a sustainable source of funding; this includes internships for our trainees, business developments in our graphics design, data analytics, web development and other teams. #WomenInTech #TechForGood #EmpoweringWomen #WomenLeaders #CareerOpportunities #fixedbytetechwoman

🌟 Attended an Inspiring Event! 🌟 I just attended an event organized by Google Developer Groups - Women Techmakers Global, titled "From Internship to Directorship: A Decade Journey". The event speech consisted of three major parts: 1. Years 1-3: From Junior to Senior Engineer Chaitali explained how remembering that we are writing code for other humans can significantly shift our programming mindset. She emphasized the importance of learning to communicate effectively from the very beginning of our journey and always staying curious to learn as much as we can. 2. Years 4-6: Work-Family-Me Trifecta She further explained how distributing responsibilities can help you become a good leader and highlighted the importance of maintaining personal and professional interconnection. 3. Years 7-10: Leading, Scaling, and Reinventing Chaitali encouraged us to think thoroughly about ourselves, who we are, and what we want to become in the next decade. She emphasized the importance of resilience and the value of sponsoring and being sponsored by others in our professional journeys. The event was filled with insightful discussions, personal stories, and valuable advice on navigating the tech industry. Hearing about the journey from intern to director over a decade was truly inspiring and provided a wealth of knowledge and motivation. A big thank you to the speaker, Chaitali Narla, and the organizers for such a wonderful and enriching experience! I'm excited to apply the insights and tips I gained to my own career journey. #WomenInTech #TechCareers #CareerGrowth #GDG #WomenTechmakers #ProfessionalDevelopment #WTM

Reflecting on an Inspiring Experience at GirlCon 2024 Digital Conference 🌟 Last week, I had the honor of leading a workshop at GirlCon's Digital Conference, where we dived into navigating internships as high school students and explored pathways into STEM fields. 💻 Workshop Highlights: Engagement with Future Leaders: Interacted with over 30 enthusiastic students, sharing stories and absorbing their incredible ideas and aspirations. 🔑 Key Discussions: • Balancing demanding schedules while pursuing personal and professional growth. • Strategies for securing internships and making meaningful connections in the tech community. • Addressing and overcoming imposter syndrome from high school to professional environments. 🌟 My Takeaways: The drive and creativity displayed by these young women were profoundly inspiring. This was the year I discovered that empowering others in tech isn't just about teaching skills - it's about showing them they belong. From being the only female finalist at SDG Innovate Summit to launching GGIT(Growing Girls Into Tech) 's first successful cohort, 2024 taught me that representation creates ripples of change: • Founded and grew GGIT(Growing Girls Into Tech) from vision to reality • Completed impactful internship at Bitsvalley • Led first-ever Daytona Tour in Cameroon • Earned Cisco networking certifications • Selected as Sustainability Ambassador - SPSC Ambassador -Sustainability Promoters & Sustainability Collaborators Ambassador for sustainable practices But the real impact? Watching our GGIT(Growing Girls Into Tech) graduates discover their power in tech. Our first cohort showed what's possible when young women have the space to grow, learn, and lead. Three moments that captured our journey: "When I arrived at the hall that morning to pitch, I discovered I was the only girl pitching and the youngest among the top 10 finalists - my heart kept pumping!" Being the only woman in the room reminded me why GGIT matters. https://lnkd.in/eFKduRFP "From the electrifying energy to the amazing team spirit, this event had it all." On volunteering at AWS Community Day and discovering that technical events are about both learning and giving back. https://lnkd.in/eTTXa4vg "Witnessing my growth and progress has been truly fulfilling." Reflecting on my Bitsvalley internship and learning that growth happens outside comfort zones. https://lnkd.in/ePxe5pvw Looking ahead: 2025 will see GGIT expanding its reach while I continue growing as a technical leader and mentor. We're just beginning to show what's possible when we create spaces where every girl can see herself in tech. To every young woman questioning if she belongs in tech: You do. And we're building a community that proves it. ✨ #WomenInTech #GrowingGirlsIntoTech #TechCommunity #LinkedInRewind #2024Wrapped
