🤝I am thrilled to share that we have just executed this major contract whereby TotalEnergies will supply up to 1.5 Mt Sustainable Aviation Fuel #SAF to Air France-KLM between 2023 and 2035. Both our Companies demonstrate once again their strong commitment to contribute to the decarbonization of the aviation sector. I want to thank #AirFrance-KLM, a strategic and long-time customer, for their renewed trust. A special tribute to both our teams who worked hard towards this achievement. 🍟SAF will be produced from waste and residues from the circular economy in TotalEnergies' French and European biorefineries and refineries by coprocessing. It will be used to fuel AF-KLM flights departing from France, the Netherlands and other European countries. 🎯The development of SAF is key in TotalEnergies' transition strategy and to meet the demand of the aviation sector. We’re thrilled to announce International Airlines Group (IAG) as Infinium’s newest #eSAF customer. This global airline leader has executed a 10-year offtake commitment to purchase ultra-low carbon eSAF, which is produced at our Project Roadrunner site using #renewable power and waste CO2 feedstocks.   With project investment from Breakthrough Energy Catalyst and Brookfield, the Infinium Project Roadrunner site is scheduled to begin supplying eSAF in late 2026. eFuels will be delivered to the UK and will be used to support IAG's compliance with the newly signed UK SAF Mandate.   #SustainableAviation #CarbonNeutral #SAF #SustainableTransport #CleanEnergy #NetZero #UK https://lnkd.in/eWq7XMvy

The future of aviation is sustainable. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts that 65% of the decarbonization target by 20250 will be achieved using SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel). Despite high global demand, current production is low, accounting for less than 1% of the aviation industry's supply. To overcome current supply limitations and achieve the necessary scale for a true energy transition with price parity, Acelen Renewables is innovating with the development of macauba, a highly competitive Brazilian plant, through a fully integrated seed-to-fuel model. With an investment exceeding 3 billion dollars in the first phase, we will introduce SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) and Renewable Diesel on a large scale in the coming years. When it comes to decarbonising aviation, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a key focus. The EU has now passed a mandate that will mean airlines have to use an increasing percentage of SAFs up to 70% by 2050. One type of fuel that will be used is e-SAF which is a synthetic fuel produced using renewable energy. e-SAF in Europe is still in its infancy so how do we ramp up production and reduce its price? International Airlines Group announced a fourteen-year contract with Twelve to supply IAG with 785,000 tonnes* of e-SAF, made from made from CO2, water and renewable energy, to support five European airlines — British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and LEVEL. The next-generation fuel will reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% versus conventional jet fuel. Malaysia has unveiled its Aviation Decarbonization Blueprint (MADB), a comprehensive four-pronged strategy aimed at reducing aviation emissions. The blueprint focuses on aircraft technology, operational improvements, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and carbon offsetting, aligning with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidelines. Loke Siew Fook, Malaysia's Minister of Transport, emphasized that SAF will be a critical component in achieving the country's decarbonization goals. Key initiatives include the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (MPC) leading the national SAF blending mandate and private sector investments in the development of a domestic SAF industry. Tourism and Sustainability Propel BAFS: 5.8 Billion Liters of Jet Fuel by 2025 and Investment in SAF Growth BAFS projects significant growth in 2024, driven by the recovery of its core aviation business. The company estimates a 17-18% increase in jet fuel volume, reaching over 5 billion liters—equivalent to 80-85% of pre-COVID levels in 2019. Looking ahead to 2025, BAFS anticipates continued momentum, fueled by a rise in international tourist arrivals and flights, with a targeted 8-9% increase in jet fuel volume compared to 2024. Complementing its aviation recovery strategy, BAFS is collaborating with Bangchak Corporation, Mitr Phol Group, and Energy Absolute (EA) to promote the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This initiative aims to align Thailand’s aviation sector with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) while positioning the country as a regional hub for SAF production. To support this vision, BAFS is exploring plans to invest THB 1.5-2 billion in an SAF storage terminal.
