📢 The second part of Episode 1 in our Tech Tales series is now live! A massive thank you to Mike Darby, CEO at Demand Logic and Mark Tyson, Head of Asset Services, Real Estate at Legal & General for coming on board and sharing their expertise and collaboration journey. The episode offered numerous valuable insights, particularly highlighting the comparison of their professional relationship to a marriage - complete with its own ups and downs. It emphasized the importance of managing expectations and the significance of 'date nights' to maintain a strong partnership. We explored a few key areas: 👉 How have Legal & General demonstrated the value of the tech internally specifically to end users such as engineers? 👉 What role does the PropTech supplier play during the scaling and implementation process? 👉 What makes a client such as Legal & General take that initial meeting with a potential PropTech supplier? Key Takeaways : ✔ Integrating and embedding into existing systems is key rather than seeking to replace these systems. ✔The initial meeting with a client should be problem and ambition led, rather than emphasising what makes you a better supplier than the competition. Stay tuned for episode 2 coming soon....

Demand Logic and Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) have been on a journey to embed technology into their FM service delivery. Watch Mike Darby and Mark Tyson discuss how they have achieved such fantastic results. A key discussion point for me is how they use the Demand Logic technology to engage and motivate users, such as Facilities Managers and Engineers. "A building is full of thousands of moving parts and its absurd that we are asking humans to determine if its all working ok". Demand Logic does this by way of a scoring every building, helping define what good looks like. This enables them to easily identify and reward Engineers for good work. Putting a building portfolio on a league table also adds healthy competition and encourages engagement further.

💥 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 💥 Homie, the trailblazing real estate disruptor that shook up the industry with its promise of revolutionizing home buying and selling, has met an unexpected and controversial end. The Utah-based company, known for its online platform that aimed to streamline transactions and eliminate traditional agent commissions, faced mounting financial challenges that ultimately led to its closure. This decision not only sent shockwaves through the real estate world but also left its agents in the lurch, abruptly terminating their contracts without warning. The demise of Homie raises questions about the sustainability of disruptive business models in the competitive real estate market and serves as a cautionary tale for those navigating the intersection of innovation and financial viability.
