Why is data alignment across MLSs important? Without data alignment, data shares are more difficult, vendors face a much longer implementation time if they service multiple markets, and all of this leads to increased costs to both MLSs and their end users, the agents. Andrea Badino was on stage at the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) the other week to demonstrate our learnings on why data dictionary compliance is just the first step to MLSs being able to share/combine data. 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 is arguably the biggest hurdle facing any MLS exploring sharing data, merging with another MLS, providing top technology to subscribers, creating backups, or endeavoring to take back control of their data.
