Cultivating a Culture of Generosity: Insights for Church Leaders Recent research from the UK has unveiled a significant opportunity for increased giving among Christian communities. This study offers valuable insights for church leaders seeking to nurture a culture of generosity. Key Findings: •Practicing Christians have the potential to donate 3.5 times more than current levels. •Trust is a crucial factor: 76% of regular donors have high trust in their church. •Major giving obstacles: financial constraints and skepticism about fund utilization. As a stewardship consultant, I recognize that unlocking this potential requires intentional leadership. Here are three actionable steps to build trust and encourage generous giving: →Embrace Radical Transparency: Implement clear, regular financial reporting that demonstrates faithful stewardship. Show your congregation exactly how their gifts are transforming lives and advancing the Kingdom. →Celebrate Kingdom Impact: Consistently share stories that connect donations to tangible outcomes. Help your congregation see how their generosity is making a difference in your community and beyond. →Foster Deeper Engagement: Create opportunities for meaningful dialogue about the church's vision and financial stewardship. Engage members in the process of discerning how to best use resources for Kingdom impact. Remember, stewardship is about more than money – it's about cultivating hearts that trust God and respond to His generosity. By focusing on these areas, we can help bridge the gap between current giving and the incredible potential that exists within our faith communities. How is your church working to build trust and encourage generous giving? Share your experiences and insights below. https://lnkd.in/gpv_XFBc #ChurchStewardship #GenerosityJourney #KingdomImpact

OMI Cultural Participation Project is absolutely proud and thrilled to announce a new partnership with Archbishop Riordan High School, to address the pressing issue of food insecurity in the 94112 and 94132 neighborhoods of San Francisco. This collaboration will ensure that surplus food from the school is redirected to support homeless and housing-insecure individuals and families in our community. Through this partnership, we will collect and distribute excess food from Archbishop Riordan High School’s meal services. These donations will provide critical nourishment to vulnerable populations, reducing waste while making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. We are honored to partner with Archbishop Riordan High School in this meaningful effort. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening our community by addressing food insecurity and supporting our neighbors facing housing instability. By working together, OMI-CPP and Archbishop Riordan High School aim to create a model of community collaboration that inspires others to take action, and tackle the growing food insecurity in a compassionate and forward-thinking way that uplifts us all. www.omicpp.org

The Fifth Day of Yule: Honoring Community and Giving Back On the 5th day of Yule, we celebrate the spirit of community and the connections that bind us together. This day is an opportunity to show gratitude for the support of others and to give back to the people and places that make our communities thrive. Yule reminds us that even in the darkest days of winter, we can be a light for those in need. Small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on others and help weave the fabric of a strong and caring community. ✨ Ways to Celebrate Community on the Fourth Day of Yule: • Feed the Unhoused: Prepare meals, donate food, or volunteer your time with a local organization that supports unhoused individuals. Warm meals and care can go a long way during the winter months. • Share Your Skills or Products: If you run a business, consider donating items, services, or a portion of your profits to local shelters, food banks, or support groups. • Support Local Organizations: Offer your time to a group that aligns with your values—whether it’s helping at an animal shelter, mentoring youth, or working with environmental initiatives. • Acts of Neighborly Kindness: Check in on neighbors, especially the elderly or those living alone, and offer assistance like shoveling snow or running errands. Celebrating community is about sharing the abundance we have, however small, to uplift others. Together, we can create warmth and connection during this sacred season. ✨ Blessed Yule! ✨

Text MOH24 to 76278 What is this and why should you care? Today was the annual Menu of Hope fundraiser luncheon, and this is how you can donate. ...okay, what is Menu of Hope and why should you care? https://lnkd.in/guc_44Cu Menu of Hope is hosted by Children's Hunger Alliance, a statewide nonprofit; an organization that has been dedicated to a war on food insecurity in Ohio since the 1970s. Their mission is to ensure that children without access receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity. I don't fault you if you don't walk through life thinking about how many kids in our own backyards go day by day, unsure of where their next meal comes from. I hadn't thought of it in a long time myself; that is until I had the privilege and honor of working with Children's Hunger Alliance. Now it's one of those things that keeps me awake at night, and it's what drives me every day to do as best of a job as I can to provide them with an application solution that can scale with their ambitions. But to be clear, it's 1 in 5 kids. 1 in 5 children in Ohio don't know whether or not they are going to go to bed hungry. Children's Hunger Alliance serves thousands of Ohioan children in an effort to combat hunger annually. But as I said, they are a nonprofit, and they rely on our help, the Ohioan community, to continue this battle. So if you have a couple spare bucks to give today, you can text that number at the top of my post. I believe it's open until the end of the day. If you want to give later on, or you want to keep it in the back of your mind, bookmark this link. https://lnkd.in/gQgjAYii I have the privilege of getting a glimpse into their operations, and I know that every dollar given is a dollar that truly counts. You may not know me, and I might not know you; but many of those who are going to see this post live in Ohio; so give some thought about taking care of our kids. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk.

Join Building Impact in fighting against summer hunger for families in need by contributing to their Summer Food Drive. In Massachusetts, 36% of surveyed households with children reported that their child is food insecure. With summer break coming up for kids, many families who rely on school-provided breakfasts and lunches may be struggling to purchase food. 100% of all donations will go to their three partners: Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), Boston Medical Center (BMC)'s Preventative Food Pantry, and People Helping People, Inc. - Burlington MA to help deliver meals. Together, through Building Impact, our community can ensure that these partners distribute nutritious groceries by providing local families with essential sustenance throughout the summer: https://lnkd.in/eHi7tG5y #PhilanthropicFriday #BuildingImpact #SummerFoodDrive

You can now listen to the entire first season of the Funding Rural (www.FundingRural.com) podcast on your favorite streaming platforms. For those of you who have taken a listen, what’s sticking with you? Which shows stand out to you —and why? These first 17 episodes of Funding Rural highlighted inspiring people who are doing hard work and heavy lifting in rural systems today. The hope is that the show can bring more understanding, spark more conversations, and get us all asking better questions as funders, philanthropists and Americans. As of the latest study, just 7% of philanthropic funding nationally goes to rural communities — and 0.4% to Native American Tribes and spaces. These are stats that Roundhouse Foundation strives to change. It was fitting to end the first season, last week, with Erik Brodt (Ojibwe), who offers this guidance, “If you show up and you ask questions differently, or if you ask the questions and then you pause to listen for an answer that might be different than what you were hoping for or expecting, you might learn a lot that day.” A big ’thank you’ to all the Funding Rural guests who graciously shared their experiences in rural and Tribal spaces: Elizabeth Marino (Oregon State University-Cascades), Wynn Rosser (T. L. L. Temple Foundation), Kali Thorne Ladd (Children's Institute), Julie Garreau (Cheyenne River Youth Project), Zavier Borja, C'Ardiss Gardner Gleser, Allen Smart, Lesli Allison (Western Landowners Alliance), Barton Robison (Willamette Partnership), Margi Hoffmann (USDA Rural Development), Belinda Brown (Lomakatsi Restoration Project), Tony Pipa (Reimagine Rural, The Brookings Institution), Cari (Logan) Cullen (Center for Disaster Philanthropy), Brenda Smith (High Desert Partnership), Torsten Kjellstrand (University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication), Jamie Bennett (Americans for the Arts), Erik Brodt (Northwest Native American Center of Excellence at OHSU). Pre-production is now underway for Funding Rural Season 2 (surprise!). Please share your thoughts on Season 1 and help influence the conversations yet to come. #fundingrural #ruralfunding #rural #philanthropy #ruralphilanthropy #systemschange
