A few years ago I changed jobs. I went from working for a senior leader I didn’t truly ‘gel’ with to working for a senior leader where we just ‘clicked’. A few years later I had a similar experience but in reverse. On both occasions, my peers had the same experience, and I concluded that it wasn’t just me, it was something about the leaders in question. This set me thinking about why some senior leaders just seem to ‘get it’ and others don’t. Fast forward to the post-COVID era and the answer became clearer: Senior leaders are often left to figure things out by themselves. Given the importance of what they do and the fact that they’re human beings just like the rest of us, this seemed unreasonable. I spoke to HR leaders, trainers, L&D, and senior leaders themselves, and concluded that there isn’t a program out there that equips senior leaders for the steep change in responsibility, behavior, and decision-making they need to make to be truly successful. That changes today. The program I am delighted to launch addresses exactly this. It supports and enables the step up that leaders need to make to be truly successful in senior roles. For those who have been in that position for a while, it provides an opportunity to strengthen areas where they may not be so strong. Both can connect with others going through this process and continue the conversations after the program finishes in our unique alumni community.
