Our Charleston Team Members had a wonderful day of service and connection at Our Lady of Mercy Neighborhood House’s Soup Kitchen. They had the honor of serving approximately 70 people in need of meals, clothes, shoes, hygiene kits, and most importantly, a listening ear and open heart. Yesterday, we conducted a Cleaning Awareness Program at a local government school, teaching children about the importance of hygiene and sanitation. 🧼🪣✨ These lessons go beyond classrooms, encouraging healthy habits that promote a brighter and cleaner future for all. Grateful to witness the enthusiasm of these children as they learned practical ways to take care of themselves and their surroundings. On International Men's Day and World Toilet Day, we ask: What's harder to find—a clean toilet or someone to confide in? Just as billions lack access to safe sanitation, 1 in 5 men struggle to open up about their feelings. This International Men’s Day and World Toilet Day, let’s break the silence on issues we rarely talk about. . . . #InternationalMensDay #WorldToiletDay #MentalHealth #Sanitation #Toilet #Thoughts #Think #MensMentalHealthMatters #SanitationForAll

It's #WorldToiletDay - and another chance to share this piece we wrote in 2017. https://lnkd.in/ei4VygGB Access to sanitation is essential for everyone across the world; affording people dignity, health, hygiene, an education, personal safety to name but a few. According to the WHO, 1.5 billion people still do not have basic sanitation services, such as private toilets or latrines. Of these, 419 million still defecate in the open, for example in street gutters, behind bushes or into open bodies of water. So, wherever you are reading this, sanitation is something that each of us has to take seriously and commit to delivering every day to every one.

Ensure the safety of your employees’ little ones by raising awareness about the risks of nappy sacks. Babies are at particular risk of suffocation and choking from plastic sheets and bags for a number of reasons: ▶ They cannot understand the risks associated with their actions. ▶ They seek to explore the world around them by, among other actions, putting articles in their mouth to experience taste and texture. ▶ They do not have the manual dexterity to remove a thin plastic covering that is “adhering” to their face or is in their mouth. ▶ Parents are not aware of the risks associated with nappy sacks. Spread awareness among your team by sharing crucial advice and guidance on their potential dangers. Our nappy sacks webpage is a great source of information that can be easily shared with your team. National Handwashing Awareness Week (Dec. 5-11) reminds us of the power of clean hands. Germs don’t follow schedules, but you can fight back 24/7 with these tips: ✅ Wash for at least 20 seconds. (Sing “Happy Birthday” twice!) ✅ Scrub all parts of your hands – front, back, between fingers, and under nails. ✅ Dry thoroughly. Damp hands spread germs more easily. ✅ Wash after key moments: before eating, after using the restroom, and whenever you’ve been in public spaces. Handwashing saves lives—simple as that. Let’s stay healthy, one scrub at a time! #primarycare #milwaukieoregon #directprimarycare #healthtips
