Informa to acquire Ascential The acquisition by Informa allows them to further double down on the events business. Ascential is the owner of one of the largest financial services events- Money2020 One other interesting aspect of the acquisition is the data business that Ascential has. Informa previously had a division called Informa Intellgience that focused on data for industry specific verticals like healthcare and financial services. They ultimately sold this off in pieces mainly to PE. Now with Ascential they not only pick up some mega events but the Ascential data business that has been pushing into the alternative data world under the Ascential Edge brand. According to Ascential's 2023 annual report, Edge brand assets contributed £31.4 million in revenue. Does Informa sell off the data business to focus on their bread and butter of events?
