#Roadway #signs in the United States come in different colors: red is only used on stop, yield and prohibition signs. Regulatory signs always have white background, and yellow is used to convey a general warning message. Green signs refer to permitted traffic direction or movement, and fluorescent yellow or green is reserved for pedestrian crossings and school zones. Coral can be found on incident management signs, brown guides you to public recreation or cultural interest sites, orange road signs are used for #warning and #guidance in roadway work zones, and blue signs guide you to road user services, tourist info or evacuation routes. Standards for the design and application of the signs shown here are outlined in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). #trafficsign #roadsafety #trafficsafety #solarsign

Enhancing Road Safety on the A417 National Highways has made significant safety improvements on the A417 between Nettleton and Birdlip Junction. These enhancements include the installation by WJ of over 600 LED Clearview Intelligence solar road studs and replacing the dashed centre line with a continuous double white line. This project aims to reduce collisions and improve visibility at night and during poor weather conditions. The upgrades not only make the road safer for all users but also support environmental sustainability by reducing the need for additional street lighting. Euston station - which I have the displeasure of visiting regularly - really is symbolic of everything that is wrong with our attitude to the built environment and investment in public spaces: 👎 Adverts taking over public space and bombarding people just trying to go about their lives (cc Adfree Cities). 👎 Needless destruction of historic buildings. 👎 Outdated infrastructure operating over-capacity with no strategic plan for renovation, just short-term or cost-saving 'treasury brain' solutions that often make things worse. 👎 Atomised structure of operation, with no single organisation willing/able to take responsibility for things going wrong. Euston is the first thing that people from across the north, midlands and Scotland see as they enter the capital city of this country - and what a truly woeful impression it makes.

Paving the way to safer roads in #GreenvilleSC! City engineers updated City Council on their Traffic Safety Action Plan. Key initiatives include redesigning high-risk intersections, lowering speed limits in targeted areas, and enhancing pedestrian safety with ADA ramps and new crosswalks. ➡️ We’ve already seen a positive impact on corridors like Pleasantburg Drive and Laurens Road. https://lnkd.in/eNevU8hc

It’s Rural Road Safety Week! One way to make rural roads safer is through enhanced delineation for horizontal curves to alert drivers of upcoming curves, the direction and sharpness of the curve, and appropriate operating speed. Potential strategies include pavement markings, retroreflective strips on sign posts, chevron signs, and more. Details here: https://loom.ly/VjRN-tw #ruralroadsafety

Scottsdale just completed a city-wide roadway evaluation. Information gathered will assign a PCI (pavement condition index) score to city streets & will help prioritize paving projects. Our crew got to tour the vendor’s vehicle & learn more about the technology earlier this month.
