We’ll help identify effective strategies and offer cost and time-saving tips.    Vanpool or a Park and Ride Lot may be strategies you could try.   Vanpooling is a convenient, cost-effective way to commute for groups of 5 to 15 people who live and work in the same vicinity.  Park-and-ride lots are specialized parking lots typically located on the suburban fringe of urbanized areas. They are designed to transfer commuters from low-occupancy modes (personal cars) to high-occupancy modes (rail, bus, van- and car-pools).    Learn more on our website. The cheapest way to park the car is to avoid using a car and picking up public transport or a bicycle. Otherwise, the parking process can be challenging, and prices hurt. In the Netherlands, it is generally tradition not to park a vehicle at the destination point during home-work commutes. I see many people who live outside Amsterdam and work within the city divide their trip during their home-work journey into two parts. The first part covers approximately 50-80% of the distance covered by car, and the second part is covered by public transport. Free parking places are usually chosen in the middle of this commute pattern. If many people choose this method, it seems more or less efficient. However, how much are you ready to pay for free parking? The debate question is not only about the price of public transport, which you must also pay for the final part of the home-work journey and for returning to your vehicle at the end of the day. But also about the time that can be saved or spent during these sequences: driving, parking, public transport, and return. Everybody decides on their own. In some cases, a suitable solution can be unexpected. Nothing captures disappointment quite like the face of someone who has just missed their morning tram. 🚋 Been there, done that. 😁 I take the tram to #work every day, and after some trial and error (and a few squished rides), I finally found the least crowded one. Now I stick to it like my life depends on it. Thankfully, my #job has flexible hours, so missing it isn’t the end… but it definitely feels like it in the moment. 😅 Morning trams in #Mannheim are a whole experience! There’s always: 🎒 Backpack swingers, taking out everyone like it’s a contact sport. 🛴 People with electric scooters who take up the space of three people and block everyone’s way. 👜 Someone who thinks their bag needs its own seat. 🚲 At least one person trying to wedge their bike into a space clearly not meant for bikes.
