Driving Bridgeview Real Estate’s interest in acquiring the student housing properties was the upside in their locations and historically high occupancies due to rising enrollments. Currently, the portfolio is 98% pre-leased for the upcoming fall semester. "Student housing is similar to multifamily, which was Bridgeview's inroad to the DST market," says Rob Anderson, president of BV Capital. "It's the same concept, just a more concentrated customer base with constant demand year over year." The DST is 32% funded and open for 1031 exchange investors or direct cash placement.
