In 1914, artist Frederick Kreig completed a series of mosaics commissioned by the late J. Pierpont Morgan to adorn the firm’s headquarters at 23 Wall Street in New York City. This panel, representing knowledge, stood beside others representing commerce, industry, the arts, recreation and more. Now preserved in the JPMorganChase Corporate History Collection, this artwork and its themes still resonate with us over a century later.
