We were honoured to be joined by the Premier of South Australia, The Hon. Peter Malinauskas MP, Minister for Health and Wellbeing, The Hon. Chris Picton MP and Member for Kavel, Dan Cregan to celebrate the commencement of construction on the $320.8m new Mount Barker Hospital Development. “Building on the successful delivery of the Emergency Department with Department for Infrastructure and Transport in 2023, we’re proud to be appointed construction partner to deliver this critical new health service for the region’s growing population. The commencement of works marks an exciting step forward, and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to bring this vision to life,” Henry Meaney, General Manager, Built. The first phase of works will involve site preparation, and include a range of temporary buildings, civil and services infrastructure provisions and car park alterations. Once complete, the new facility will triple inpatient capacity from 34 to 102 beds, enhancing specialist services in maternity, paediatrics, rehabilitation, mental health, surgical, and palliative care. 🚧 Exciting milestone for the new Melton Hospital! 🚧 Site preparation works for the new hospital, delivered as a Public Private Partnership, will begin shortly, marking a major step toward bringing essential healthcare infrastructure to Melbourne’s fast-growing outer west. As Victoria’s first fully electric hospital, the new Melton Hospital will provide critical services, including 24-hour emergency care, maternity and neonatal support, intensive care, mental health services, and more. The new hospital will improve accessibility to health services and enhance outcomes for the people of Melton and the broader region. AECOM has proudly supported the Victorian Health Building Authority and Western Health from the master plan and feasibility stage, through to providing technical advisory services to the state in its Public Private Partnership procurement. While most aged care homes continue to struggle, some are profitable. Why? In UARC’s Full-Year Report (2022-23), the authors found the top 25% of homes (by financial result) generated large operating surpluses of over $30 per resident per day while the bottom 75% are generating increasingly large losses of more than $36 per resident per day. UARC’s upcoming Mid-Year Report (2023-24) brings you the latest results and provides an in-depth examination of what is driving this trend including differences in the level of nursing and personal care, the amount spent on food or other everyday living expenses and the cost of accommodation. Australia’s Aged Care Sector: Mid-Year Report (2023-24) is available from 20 June 2024 at https://lnkd.in/eEzSxE8W. The Hill-Burton program, formally known as the Hospital Survey and Construction Act, was a pivotal turning point in the advancement of rural healthcare in the United States. Signed into law in 1946, this legislation transformed the landscape of rural health by providing crucial construction grants and loans for building healthcare facilities in communities that previously lacked them. Enabling the construction of nearly one-third of U.S. hospitals by 1975, the Hill-Burton program brought essential medical services to the doorsteps of many rural communities, enhancing healthcare accessibility significantly. Even after its direct funding ended, the legacy of the Hill-Burton program continued. Now, with over 1300 Critical Access Hospitals currently active in the United States, many have reached the turning point for them to be replaced, expanded, or updated in order to continue serving their rural communities. In 2022 Stroudwater Capital Partners - Rural Healthcare and Stroudwater Associates released the 2022 Rural Hospital Replacement Facility Study considering data from all Critical Access Hospitals replaced between 2000-2019 and in fall of 2025 the updated study will be released extending the data from 2000-2023. Learn more from the current study and its findings here: https://lnkd.in/dVBWGubQ On this #NationalRuralHealthDay we celebrate rural healthcare and remind our rural health communities and partners that the role of Stroudwater Capital Partners - Rural Healthcare is to serve you and work alongside you to keep the future of your community looking bright. If you are ready to ask the questions about what it takes to replace, update, or expand your facility, we are here to talk: info@stroudwatercapital.us #PowerOfRural #ruralhealth #ruralhealthcare #CriticalAccessHospital #capitalproject #USDA #communityfacilites

NEW – our 2024 GP survey results are out now. It’s clear from these results that the great majority of GP locums across the UK are struggling to get work, with a myriad of potential causes for this being cited. Some of these reasons being practical, but also related to systemic underfunding in general practice and the introduction of ARRS roles. It’s also clear that in the areas where locums have adopted LocumDeck at scale, in these cases brought about by central ICB funding, the majority of locums report a positive impact on their livelihoods. This project reflects our government’s commitment to strengthening health services across the province and will provide people in Cowichan greater access to the care they need in a state-of-the-art hospital that will serve the region for generations to come,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. “The vision for the new hospital is to create a welcoming place of healing and hope, with a focus on the highest quality care that is culturally safe and respectful.” The centre will house outpatient and diagnostic-care services, including an emergency department, medical imaging, ambulatory care, a pharmacy and cafeteria and will be linked to an inpatient tower through a community hall. Following structural completion of the centre, work will continue on its interior, while structural work continues on the seven-storey inpatient tower and service centre. Construction of the 204-bed hospital is on track for completion in 2026, and is expected to be ready for patients in 2027. It will be the first fully electric hospital in B.C. Total budget for the project is nearly $1.5 billion, provided by the Province through Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, Cowichan Valley Regional District and Cowichan District Hospital Foundation. The replacement project is being delivered by the Nuts’a’maat Alliance, a fully integrated team comprised of participants from Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, EllisDon, Parkin Architects, BC Infrastructure Benefits Inc. and Infrastructure BC.
