Thank you to Brad Marsden, Marsden Group Consulting, and Talaysay Tours, who each spent time with @Infrastructure BC team members on September 18. The entire day was a powerful learning experience for all. Brad Marsden, Marsden Group Consulting, hails from the Gitsegukla Indian Reserve within the Gitksan Nation. Brad’s experiential Historical Trauma and Colonization workshop, provided to Infrastructure BC team members, looks at the devastating impacts of the collective trauma on Indigenous people throughout Canada’s history. Following Brad’s workshop, Infrastructure BC team members embarked on an ethnobotany-focused nature walk through Stanley Park, exploring how the Shíshálh (Sechelt) & Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) people utilize the land for food, medicine and technology by tour guides Deanna Lewis and Seraphine Lewis with Talaysay Tours. #learningtogether
