Anaphite CEO, Joe Stevenson, is looking forward to attending the Elbow Beach Capital and Climate Connection Catalyst Dinner in London in a couple of weeks! The focus of the event will be on batteries and the green energy transition. Batteries are a key technology to decarbonisation, but they are not a silver bullet solution. It is important to look at how batteries are manufactured to ensure that we address embedded carbon and not just tailpipe emissions. The electrode manufacturing step represents approximately 30% of the energy consumption of battery production. This is attributed to the large, energy intensive drying ovens and solvent recovery systems required for the current wet coating process. At Anaphite, we work with our customers to reduce the embedded carbon from battery production by enabling dry battery electrode coating. We achieve this by producing tailor-formulated Dry Coating Precursor powders which are optimised for our customers' dry coating hardware. We are pleased to be part of this event to discuss Anaphite's role in making batteries more sustainable. #EnergyStorage #ClimateConnection #ClimateTech
Elbow Beach Capital are pleased to be hosting our second Catalyst Dinner alongside Climate Connection, addressing the theme: Batteries and the Green Energy Transition. Batteries are a key enabler of the energy transition and will play a vital role in the transition to net zero. This Catalyst Dinner will bring together startups, corporations, non-profits and policymakers to explore how batteries can supercharge the green energy transition. This event follows the success of our first Catalyst Dinner, and we look forward to facilitating more insightful discussions on topics essential to sustainability and the clean energy transition. If you’d like to join us in discussing the future of the industry and network with some of the leaders in this space, drop us a message to register your interest. #EnergyStorage #ClimateConnection #ClimateTech Jonathan Carrier Allye Russell Peterson Munro Vehicles Joe Stevenson Anaphite

Breakthrough Energy’s Executive Director, Rodi Guidero shares an important reminder about reaching net-zero by 2050. "The reality is that we're all in this together, and we need each other. There's no silver bullet or magic wand that we can just wave to fix this problem." It's up to scientists to come up with great ideas; entrepreneurs to turn those ideas into reality; financiers to fund projects; and policymakers to create market incentives to allow us to make a rapid transformation. This ecosystem-based approach is what drives our operating model at BE. Learn more:

#Adoption of [cleantech] innovation across industry and government has many significant opportunities and benefits: global competitiveness, productivity and profitability, investment returns, reduced GHG emissions and water consumption, employee satisfaction and retention, and more. #Adoption also means paying customers, the best kind of capital for any company, large or small. Foresight Canada 🍁 has been supporting the adoption of made-in-Canada #cleantech innovation for #10 years. This combined with our ecosystem work has led us to design and launch a platform that reduces barriers to adoption with practical, market-driven tools and supports. Government, industry and innovators have mapped out their challenges - we are bringing it all together here. ICYMI: Back in May, our fearless leader and CEO, Jeanette Jackson 🌱, spoke with Andrew Seale from The Globe and Mail about the most pressing challenges that companies face when tackling climate change - the struggle to scale and adopt their game-changing solutions. Canadian innovators are leading the way in developing groundbreaking cleantech solutions. But, while they are often able to find the support they need as a startup, they often face challenges securing domestic funding and potential buyers in Canadian industries when they reach the commercialization stage. 💬 Jeanette notes, “Why is it hard for us to procure our own technology? Just think about the opportunity to give early stage investors a quicker turnaround and ROI, and how that would recycle capital into the ecosystem if we could just get adoption happening in our own country.” Echoing her words, let's work together to accelerate progress and adoption for the sake of our economy and sustainable future. 🌍🌱 Read the full article here: https://hubs.la/Q02DdZ1t0 Learn more about how we are helping Canadian cleantech ventures connect with buyers through our new Cleantech Adoption Platform, launching later this year: https://hubs.la/Q02DdXvd0

What a great experience-- to participate at the Cleantech Open ("CTO") Northeast Semi-Finals as a panelist! A few themes: ✅ Same & different- you might see 2 companies doing similar things in terms of their technology, say ground based & blade-less power generation or deep or shallow underwater turbines, for example, but going about it in completely different and viable ways, commercially. ✅ Adjacent & Interesting: Another company is aggregating data to help modeling & de-risk (perception) for these newer technologies to make financing and growth possible for these innovations .... Knowledge is power. ✅ Listen & Learn: you might find a person or company that you seemingly have zero connections with. This, as Beth Zonis says, is the time to ask questions. It’s fun, and pretty incredible how you can find overlap when you talk to like minded and passionate people. Thank you ACT | The Alliance for Climate Transition / Cleantech Open Northeast / ACT (Olivia LaRoche & Beth Zonis!) for an awesome event as always and Foley Hoag LLP for hosting! ** Photo thanks to Edison Almeida... we didn't get photos of the start-ups, sadly (it was a tight turn!), but here's our 'Energy Generation' panel: Henry Noel Jr, Ted Butler, Richard Collins, Edison Almeida, Cheikh Dramé, Johnny (Zhengyu) Huang #cleantech, #innovation, #sustainability, #entrepreneurship

Effective mission advocacy is crucial for organizations seeking to make a meaningful impact. Mission advocacy extends beyond addressing core organizational needs; it involves advocating for a regulatory environment that fosters innovation and deployment of technology. Connecticut has a track record of setting ambitious goals to grow industries like InsurTech, renewable energy, advanced technology, and precision manufacturing. However, challenges arise when stringent regulations impede progress, as seen in the case of solar energy development. Despite ambitious climate change goals, the state has some of the most entrenched and institutionalized NIMBYism in the country and faces significant opposition to clean energy projects. Many clients express frustration with these barriers. The key question is: what steps can be taken to address this issue effectively? Seeking out visionary leaders for investment and R&D organizations who are willing to drive practical change is crucial in overcoming these obstacles.
