Today, marked both #WorldMentalHealthDay and #WorldHomelessDay —two causes that are deeply connected and central to the work we do at HACT. At HACT, we know that housing is more than just a roof over your head—it’s the foundation for every aspect of your wellbeing. Many people facing homelessness struggle with mental health challenges, and without stable housing, accessing the care and support individuals might need becomes even more difficult. That's why we are committed to supporting the creation of sustainable, healthy homes and communities that promote both physical and mental wellbeing. On this important day, let’s remember that housing and mental health go hand in hand and continue to work towards a future where everyone has a safe place to call home. #Housing #EndHomelessness #SocialImpact

Today is both #WorldHomelessDay and #WorldMentalHealthDay, and there’s a reason they share a date… Approximately half of all adults sleeping rough first slept rough under the age of 25. Halfway through 2024, more than 70% of the young people we’ve worked with this year said that they had mental health needs, and more than 60% said that support with their mental health was their first priority need. We’re here to listen to, work with, and empower young people experiencing homelessness, helping them to reach both their goals and full potential. 🌍 Yesterday was Mental Health & Homelessness Awareness Day 🌍 At RH Plumbing & Heating, we understand that mental health and homelessness are issues that can impact anyone—both in and outside of the workplace. While these challenges might often be unseen, they can have a profound effect on our colleagues, friends, and families. We believe that creating a supportive environment at work is key. That’s why we have an Open Door Policy —a place where all our team members feel safe and comfortable discussing any concerns, whether they relate to mental health, personal challenges, or well-being. 🗣️ It’s important to us that everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered to seek help when needed. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we're here to make sure our team knows they're not alone. Let’s continue to raise awareness and encourage open conversations around these vital issues. Together, we can make a difference—at work and in our communities. #MentalHealthAwareness #HomelessnessAwareness #OpenDoorPolicy #SupportEachOther #RHPlumbingAndHeating #MentalWellbeing #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeSupport

This week is #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Mental health problems and homelessness can create a cycle that can feel impossible to break. Over 60% of our clients experience mental health problems, either due to homelessness or as a contributing factor that led to their homelessness. Our teams work closely with our clients, giving them the space and time to talk, helping to build trust and connections, and to find better ways to cope with what they are feeling. #Homelessness is an experience, not a forever. With the right support, it can be ended. #MHAW2024 #MHAW24 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #HomelessnessAwareness #HomelessnessAwareness2024 #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters

As Mental Health Awareness Month wraps up, it's crucial to recognize the intersection of mental health and homelessness. A recent study confirmed that many homeless individuals struggle with mental health issues at rates far above the general population. Last year, 40% of BEDS Plus clients—1,000 individuals—were battling serious mental or behavioral health conditions. These numbers represent real people facing profound challenges. That's why we're committed to supporting our clients on their journey to recovery and stability, providing essential mental health services and other supports. Let's keep raising awareness, reducing stigma, and extending a helping hand to those in need. Every person deserves a brighter, healthier future. #MentalHealthMonth #hope #mentalhealthhomelessness
